Be advised that the drop tank etc isnt light weight. You'll be hauling around a few extra pounds when finished.

I don't think I'm jesting? I had the tank and rails etc for my Sis-T 190. I sold it but if someone has them they can weigh just to make sure. My guess is at least 1lb. and maybe a tad more.

Well not a good day. On the maiden the motor quit about 20 ft in the air. Not enough airspeed to even glide. Luckily it didnt snap, just mushed in nose first. Ripped out the gear and broke the cowl. It continues, fired up my YA P-40 and promptly got a hard over rudder. Spun in...total lose. Time for a cold beer....or several. When I settle down I'll look at the wing to see if it can be repaired and talk to Tower about a replacement wing........2 take offs...0 landings = suck day. Oh yeah, and last night I broke the nose retract on my Composite ARF Ultra Flash. Maybe some good Glenlevit instead of beer! Tomorrow I'm playing golf!

OH ......I almost forgot......and 4 beer chasers!

It is very hard to find humor in such a bad day.

Well after seeing a new wing is $400 I decided to try a rebuild. Retracts are severely damaged and will require new frames. The wing is better that I thought. I pulled the covering off, tore off the damaged sheeting and removed the broken gear mounting rails. I made a pattern and started cutting the ply parts. The ribs that the gear mounts key into are not damaged badly and will not require replacement. I will probably have the ply parts ready to reinstall tomorrow but will have to wait till I get me retracts repaired before gluing them in. The sheeting will have to wait until the structure is rebuilt but I see no major problems. Estimated cost of the rebuild will be less than $50 for the wing plus the cost of the retract parts. The cowl will require some work and I will make temp repair until after the airplane is successfully flown, then I will replace the cowl. No damage to the fuselage. Overall not a bad crash.

Charles, given that the emblem has four colors to it, it might make things a lot easier and less money to do that one as a dry transfer...Getstencils is good at those.

Thanks wulf, I really want to paint them on or at least have them made from vinyl. I did the dry transfer thing on my ME-109 and they didn't last long. I got some really good dry transfers from Fighteraces though.

OK, this is what I need. All markings for this, cowl emblem, number 6 and tail swastika . shoot me a PM.

Farmer...  Didn't you have a thread for this build?  I could have sworn I subscribed to it??
Is it still out there or did I just miss signing up?  Molting looks fantastic!

I hear ya on painting them on. I used a Getstencils dry transfer for the badges on my 190A and they were awesome. I get to do the next cowling as a checkerboard, so I get to do all that masking anyway it seems.

I feel your pain on that cowl. You know me.. Having several FW190's in the works like you. One of them is this one. However not the same nomenclature. A little more personal to me as if It were my plane.

I'm flying my Platt 190A, Sist 190A, Topflite 190D9, ESM 190A, ESM 190D9, and a Platt 190A, Holman 190D9 and skyshark D9 under the works. Not to mention the four FW190 foamies..

At some point, I'll start my Anderson TA152 and Hopefully the captured P-47 razorback. But I have a funny feeling that someone here (not saying any names) will have me building a Meister 190A for them instead..

Just a little addicted..

I just bought a SisT FW190 at a swap meet this past weekend and wonder what scale it is. I have a ZDZ60 I plan on putting in it.
Thanks
