I should be able to pull my fw out of the box over thanksgiving. I know everyone will die of shock, but im just going to pull it out of the box slap a da50 on the nose and fly the wings off of it as is no mods. Has anyone got theirs flying yet?

I have gotten 4 flights on mine with a DLE 60 twin. It flies very well. It needed absolutely no trim whatsoever.

There is a pic on the previous page. Should be a perfect engine. just a matter of if you can live with the caps slightly exposed out of the cowl. This being a warbird and not a scale model, I bet it is a perfect option. Especially if it will be a throw around, everyday warbird ARF for events and such.

Tfarmer96,

What FW190 is that you're building? Also, what do you need from me in order to make that hood emblem and an address to send the money. Thanks

I talked to Robart yesterday and was told there is no problem with the retracts. He told me that the demand is so high they can not fill the orders. I do not believe he told me the truth. I am waiting patiently also.

I just received my electric retracts back and they work perfectly. The only thing I would add is be very careful that the wheel is perfectly aligned with the wing opening so that it doesn't touch or bind when the gear retract. I would suggest mounting and trying them without the wheel attached to be sure that the alignment is correctbefore trying them with the wheel in place.

Well, the wing is just about finished. Got the gear mounts installed yesterday, all sheeting reparired. Used some lightweight spackling to fix the dings. Tomorrow sanding and monocote. I got my gear parts from Robart in about 3 days. So far I have spent less than $100 in the repairs. Once i get it flying again I will order a new cowl, decals and gear doors. Will be good as new. I need to find out why the motor quit running before I fly it again.

How can you figure what size swastika you need for the tail, I have the ESM FW190 and would like to put one on it but sure what the scale size would be.
Thanks

Sorry about your trouble...
If you are running a DLE motor I have found the high speed needle is set too lean on the club members around here.
They will start and run great.....till they get fifty foot in the air.
Don't be afried to play with the HS needle....the low speed is perfect.
Jim
PS...I haven started on mine yet as I have to finsih up another bird first.
