Ram,

Received the package! Many thanks sir, it's almost finished now and worked perfectly.
I'll add a pic when the glue sets and I can get it back together.

Will a DLE 60 twin fit in the cowl? Does anyone know if Top Flite will come out with a two -piece wing to make transporting easier?

So, I go by my local dealer today and he puts in a order for the plane and retracts for me as a Christmas present from my family and gives us a great deal, now the fun starts. Tower shows the plane in stock but Great Planes back orders it along with the Robart retracts. Guess I'm not getting a Christmas present again this year last year it was the E-flite F-4's that we never got hope GPA has their stuff back in stock before I get bored waiting. Maybe I should have gotten the P-47 from Hanger Nine but wait they were the people who lied to me all of last winter. Seams like we can't win trying to spend money.lol.

Well it looks like Christmas is going to come after all. I got a call that the gear was in along with the new dual outlet muffler for my g-45 and best of all the plane was shipped by truck today. Yea for Top Flight and Robart for me getting a Christmas present this year from my family. Last year was a nightmare with the E-flite F-4 , DX10 debacle.

The DLE 60 will fit in the cowl with exceptions. The Plugs stick out and so do the plug boots. Also you can't put the cowl on with the plugs in. they have to be inserted after the cowl is mounted.

I do have an idea that could get you by. In the Meister scale birds you dont have to glue in the spar and that allows for a 2 part wing. I would imagin you might be able to glue in just half the spar and make the topflite wings 2 part to get you by. You would just have to put in 2 more connectors for the air lines. My Meister fw190 came in at 50lbs and its a 2 part wing.

After all the front dowls and the wing bolts should keep it together. Just an idea

Hey Tfarmer, that meister is awesome.. I can't wait to get mine after the holidays. I considered the two part wing on this as like you stated, it wouldn't be too complicated to do. I’m working on the panel lines on the TF now. The weather is so nice out, I wish I could go fly but this is the calm before the storm... Literally. We're getting hammered later today with snow and its being called a blizzard...Here, It's alway beautiful out before it gets ugly..

I've got the fuse done and I'll save the wing for when the snow hits. I have to admit, I'm liking this plane more each day. Looking at my other FW190's, it's not that far off compaired to others...

Do you guys do anything special to the control rod wires that run the ele & rudder?
On this one I wiped them off with 95% alcohol and then oiled them up and they do slide better.

Ya, waiting on that darn snow that CO is going to send over to us....makes a better building day though.
Have the snow bower all ready to go.
Jim

Guys, I ran into a problem with my electric Robarts and the how they fit into the wing.

The right side retract does not fit right.  The strut when assembled and fully down, is too far backwards, such that when it retracts, the tire is about 1/8" outside the wheel well.

I am wondering if I have a badly welded strut fron Robart or if this is a TF manufacturing problem.  Anyone else have this mismatch?

Thanks!

I will check.  The holes are all pre-drilled.  I will see if there is enough play in the holes/fit to allow proper alignment.

Thanks.

I have a ASP 400 radial which is supposed to be equivalent to the G62. I was thinking of seeing if this engine would work on this plane, and I think it would be a great combination, and sound awesome. Do any of you by chance have the diameter of the cowl, or know if the engine would fit without having to cut up the cowl? Thanks, I gotta get one of these, but I want the electric retracts option as well.
Tommy

so i pulled my wulf out of the box and tossed it on the build table. What i like most about topflite is you can use the gear they send with the bird. I was however surprised it didnt have a non retractable tail gear with it. Im not doing any major mods to this bird just putting it together and flying it. I just want a new beater fly the wings off of. i have to hand it to them on this one you can tell they sat down and put some thought in to this. Hope to have it ready to CG and maiden soon.

Picked mine up today at GPA Hobbies, they saved the day this year. I finally got a Christmas present on time for once. I really like to shop local when I can and year went out of their way to be sure it all got here for Christmas! Now all indeed is time to put it together.
