Status: offline 		I have the electrics ordered for the FW190 and called Robart today. They told me that the P-40 electrics will be out in about one week to order from Tower...just knowing that they are built by Down And Locked is enough for me, Im definitely on board

I have had great luck with all of Robarts pneumatic stuff...actually better luck than with any other mfg. I think the Down and Locked combo is going to be as good

Status: offline 		Here is some info on the cowl... TF rep said the DLE55 head fits entirely in side the cowl with plug cap out, the DLE55 head is 123mm so the cowl is at least 246mm in diameter.... Sounds like a DA85 to me

Status: offline 		I wonder which DLE55 the TF Rep is referring to, he may be referring to the older style DLE55; the new Rear Exhaust Style DLE55 has the plug angled towards the rear as well, and the new style DLE55 including Spark Plug Cap/Boot, may fit completely inside the cowl.

Tfarmer, I know that you have used the DA85 on other TF GS planes of the same size, such as the P-47. How many flights do you typically have on them with this engine?

Status: offline 		Just ordered mine with retracts. Didnt order a motor yet as I want to take a good look and see how big the cowl is. Want to fit something that will turn a nice 3 blade prop.

Status: offline 		I can help some Charles. I combed over it as much as I could. It has a DLE 55 for power, and flight is VERY impressive. I've never bought an ARF, but this one is a winner. Construction looks good as does scale outline. The Robart gear have the cylinder placed behind the axle pivot, so this might make dropping in Sierras more complicated...but the Robart gear looked good. It flew a little "lighter" than the Holman, but did everything that the Holman version does well, just as good....awesome cornering, good ground handling, stable landing approach, etc.. I think he said the weight was around 23lbs, so with the DLE it's a lively performer. An ARC might be forthcoming if enough people email TF for it...so if you want one in ARC, ask and maybe down the road it will happen. The finish on the ARF is ok if you're alright with covering and stuff, but personally I would strip it. If it were glassed and detailed after purchase it could look fantastic. The cowl is panel lined, but not the plane. You will be extremely pleased with it. I would have no regrets buying one.

Status: offline 		Maybe not so much really. I was mightily impressed by it. They really did a great job with it. There's no way you could build a kit to ARC condition at the price they are charging for this....maybe if you cut your own, but even then...I doubt it. The only reason I probably won't get one is that I already have two Holmans and never fly much anyway...but it's good, trust me. Any of you guys getting it are going to be REALLY pleased with your purchase.

I would add that something would need to be done to the t.w. retract. It has a stock 160 type retract in it and it needs something more in tune for both scale fidelity in the up and down position and function in terms of getting the tail off the grass more. This isn't a big deal probably, but I have no idea how installing a scale t.w. retract in there would go...just something to consider.

Status: offline 		I'm on the list for the Pneumatic gear. I kind of thought after mentioning going with Sierra gear, the complications of their installation. It could be done if you ripped the retracts ribs out and customized the area but I complicate these enough as it is!

Thanks for the report. I'm guessing it had the older/current DLE55, not the new DLE55RA with rear exhaust, due for release in September! I wonder which one would fit it better, seems like the new style would?
