I've been lurking here a while, but I decided this was a place to belong to.
I have a few tanks so far, a few HL's but mainly 1/24 Vs Pro's. One tank I really wanted was a T34, but Vs don't make one.
So I bought a Forces of Valour tank, my first in that brand.
Now for the questions-
How good is the quality compared to Vs? I'm happy with the tank, it runs well and the sound is pretty good. The plastic is a bit shiny, but that's an easy fix.
If both Vs and FoV are infrared, how come they don't "kill" each other? I tried shooting the T34 with my Vs T72, and vice versa, but they don't register the hits.
Is there different frequencies of IR?
I'm not complaining about the T34 though- for $99 it's a really nice tank, and I guess if it's not compatible with Vs, I'll have to get a Panzer IV to keep it company!

Status: offline 		Welxome aboard mate. Got a buddy from Australia.  I can't really tell you much about those makes, but I would think they are different frequencies. I am sure others will chime in that own those brands.

Different frequencies between manufacturers doesn't surprise me.

I tried to figure this all out recently myself (with a lot of help from members here). IR works on bandwidths, but that may not be the reason for communication problems between brands. The IR emitter isn't just sending an invisible light, it's sending a blast of code. It works just like the universal remotes available for your TV, DVD player, etc. I have a universal remote that shoots HL tanks.

HL and Tamiya have different codes, but will work together if you add a board like the Mako that simply adds the Tamiya code.

There are codes programmed into Tamiya that allow one shot kills, repairs, etc and more sophisticated systems like El Mod have differential damage, simulated armor.

Status: offline 		 Yes I know they can be modified to do that. Your post reads like it is a standard feature of the TBS though, which it is not. At least not on mine. I like the idea though. Ammo racking someone.
