I am looking for  nylon piece that screws  to end of byron  air cylinder rod, in main gear of my byron p51..  The nylon piece is  stripped inside where the cylinder rod screws in. I am thinking of adding some kind of epoxy but before i try that   I want to know if anyone   has some to sell me   can anyone help me      ?????????

You should be able to order some nylon or delrin rod from mcmaster carr and make your own pretty easily if you can find OEM parts.

edit: found some rod here...pretty cheap too

not sure who made them tony, but its a good bet robart made the gear for byron.I know  iorn bay took over Byron  but they are hard to get in touch with.

Originals were plastic with brass upbrade cylinders later. Have both.  Plastic are gray material and of course brass is brass. Note: top bag above with P-47 label is early version. Later version or upgrade version is bag below with brass cylinders. Same gear were used on P-51 and P-47.

Robart made retracts for some of the Byron planes, mostly the ones that needed rotating gear and the T-28 for sure. The Mustang, P-47, Zero, F-15 and probably some others used Byron's plastic gear. Even the GeeBee and Ryan STA used the plastic struts on knurled stubs mounted in the wing.
