Seems kind of odd that someone who grew up in Houston during the height of the space race would take 50 years to try model rocketry, doesn't it? Whatever the reason I'm finally giving it a go. I just finished my first two rockets, the Estes Big Bertha and Big Daddy. They haven't flown yet, hoping to do that during the local rocketry club's launch at the end of August. Here are pics of my rockets:

Big Bertha "Tara"

Big Daddy "Der Grosser Vati"

I will try to get more pics and video of their maiden flights.

God bless ya!

I had a Big Bertha a gozillion years ago, and your second is similar to my all time favorite - der Red Max.  Neither were spectacular (Like a Cherokee-D) but they sure were fun!

I may have to get back into rocketry.  I was heavily into it in the mid 70's.

I did a Big Bertha in a Buzz Lightyear when my son was younger. I think my all time favorite rockets are the Fat Boy and Bull Pup.

Yours look great!

You picked two good rockets to start with. The Big Bertha is a really good, solid flyer. Good job!

I love anything Red Max like lol!  Memories from my childhood, think I had one when I was ten.  This is my son's Minni Mag done in a similar theme.
