Dick and Roger did a great job of sorting this event out in very quick time and once again we were lucky with the weather . . . . . lets just hope this will be the same for next years events! Geoff and the Jetrebel agreed to disagree on the speed of their Bandits and Dick did a great job with the catering. Seeing the 'Cock' walking around the bar in boots, boxers and shirt with a quilt wrapped around him was not something you wanted to see before breakfast! Saturday night was as you might expect with Palmer, the Cock and the Animal in attendance! Such a shame we all had to go home!!

Geoff's T-shirt was a surprise as i had hoped that this has been forgotten about by now! we do have a new T-shirt idea for next time!???

Model of the meeting? i think that it would have to be a Coiln Gardners Firebird, such a sexy shape and a fantastic noise!

Pete Sanders mobile accomodation, one word . . . . . .CLASS!

I hate to have to admit it as it is a leaf blower but Ali's BVM Sabre was performing so well! The sabre is a very good looking model anyway but the Blue Impulse scheme is definitely one of the best Sabre schemes around. If i was to buy EDF, this is the only way i would go!

This was the scene at 0715 on Saturday morning, burned off reasonably quickly.

Dust busters rock!
For the likes of you and I Jamie the high end EDF's are now finally getting to a point where we can operate flight after flight without a PHD in electroicity...

Ali, having seen you fly both the MIG15 and the F86, I have to say I prefer the look of the MIG but which one do you prefer to fly?

Geoff.

Having seen your Mig and now the Sabre fly, it is something i am looking very closely at. I have the perfect candidate for conversion sitting in my workshop aswell!

Thats a toughie Geoffrey. I think the Mig is for sure the "better" flying plane. It has a wider speed envelope and is much more solid and happy at slower speeds. It's also the more pure rolling plane out of the two. Lastly, because it is that bit bigger it sits and presents that bit better in the air ( As well as being able to carry the larger batteries so has that much needed extra min of duration ) Oh and I have just remembered that the U/C on the mig makes it a far better plane on the ground.... But! I do love the way the Sabre flies. It takes more attention and seems to be that little bit faster ( May just be a size and perception thing)
I think the truth of the matter is that if I ever get the chance to have both of them side by side on a runway then the Mig would always get the first flight. But no way would I not fly the 86! How decisive a post is that... I used to be indecisive.. Now I am not sure

Regards Al

Do it J... If only to give Dizz the gift of the year!

Interesting comments Ali,

I have always had a soft spot for the MIG because, as you may remember, I had a kit built one some years ago and looking back on it, I didn't realise what I fantastic flyer it was. Would love another one but too many other models to buy.

Geoff.

Now there is yet another reason to give it a go right there J! [>:] I seem to remember you have the really nicely done BV 86. Now that would be a perfect candidate for dust buster propulsion.

Geoff.. I remember your old Mig. Silver with some south american scheme wasn't it? Well if you thought that was good imagie what it would be like a fair few pounds lighter, and with a fully symmetrical thinner wing.. amongst other changes.

Regards Al

I fear you're peeing into the wind Captain...you must remember that J and G share a room at jet meets and both seem to be coming out with a tendency towards the dark side. I place the blame firmly at the dorstep of Dizz...and now Ali's stoking the fire (metaphorically speaking, of course!). That said, Dizz almost caught me in a weak moment last weekend and was a hairbreadth from persuading me to fly his Attacker...but I mustered the strength and stayed straight!

On a separate note, the weather's looking favourable for going out to play at Wtn this weekend...fancy a day out?

Cheers,

Dick

Ali,

That is the model i am thinking of as it was built around the BVM DF set up and as a result would be a quick transformation, i was originally going to fit a P60 but i think all the mods plus the turbine would make it quite heavy. I think a 10S set up would be nice to start with.

Have to say Dick that the time is drawing near where i will have to give it a go, only a BVM set up though! that would make me feel much better about it! Every time o fly the Attacker it is giving yet more food for thought, i could never change over completely . . . . . just could not happen! Bardoe has been working on me aswell!

Look's like a few LIGHT PLY rails have been glued in there from B&Q'S timber yard .

To make that sabre really nice it needs the right puff to give it the proper chuff.......
