I love the subtle damage and weathering. Use of the extra roadwheel, etc really adds to the build. Love the tow cable.

Yes, I have the TBU installed.
The IR Emitter is in the mantlet.
For now, I have stock Tamiya Gearboxes with Promax 400 motors.
I will also take off the metal tracks and put on the stock plastic ones when I battle.

All I can say is..WOW!!!

That is an absolutely wonderful job. As a scale warbird builder I try to get this level of effect on my builds, but you have really taken it to the next level. I see you live here in Charlotte also; Maybe we could get together for show and tell. You show me you other work and tell me how to acheive that level of realism on my stuff

Wonderful work. That's really an acomplishment to feel good about.

For the cammo on the barrel:
The netting is cotton cheese cloth dyed with watered down acrylics.
It is hard to see, but there are thin strips of paper "woven" through the netting to simulate the cammo.
Believe it or not, I used hand made paper. 
(Since I am an artist, I have access to obscure materials.)
As an equivalent, I would suggest something thin but fibrous and can get wet without falling apart.
Japanese papers would probably work. (art supply store)
I cut them into strips about 2 mm wide and dyed them w/ watered down acrylics.
After I wove them into the netting, I wet the whole thing and wrapped it around a paintbrush with a similar diameter to the barrel and let it dry.
This so the paper would hold a round shape and look more to scale.
The sticks are from Hobby Lobby, in the dried flowers section.
The greenery is some kind of moss that I picked off our 50 yr old maple tree that we had to take down in my front yard.
Sorry, but I do not know what it is called.
It is all tied on with rope from Schumo.

Status: offline 		Oh I forgot the periscopes...

The schumo periscopes have a nice deep recessed area where the glass would go.

First I painted the whole thing using gunmetal and dry brushed the highlights using Steel (Testors).
Then I used metallic silver and painted the flat surface of the recessed area where the glass would go.
Then I mixed a few drops of Testors transparent green into Tammy gloss varnish.
Then I "pooled" the mixture in the recess.
I applied several coats until it had a thickness to it.

I feel as though they turned out too sparkly because of the silver, they almost look like computer screens. (Old crt's at least)
Maybe a light gray would be better than silver.
