I will be completely honest, its probably an unreasonable and false sense of security but I only use JR servos. I used a hitec once and it stripped but to be fair probably any servo would have. Anyway, I'm building a CL-215 water bomber and for now the way it is set up a servo sits out there exposed. Yes, I use CorX, and servo covers along with other precautions. However, its still out there and I was planning on putting a nice JR servo that cost over $100 and I am reluctant which brings me to this post, anyone have experience or opinions on this HT waterproof servo?
Thanks

With the exception of the 300, I have found Hitec Servos to be completely reliable.
The 300 was their bottom-feeder 20 years ago.

I use Hitec servos almost exclusively, mostly 5485's. Those exposed to water are opened up and dipped in Corrosion X. I've never had one fail from getting wet.

My latest project:

I too have used them for years with great success,, Just about all my current, from small to giant scale, planes have exclusively Hitec servos,, I fly with 100% confidence in them.
Be the guinea pig,, let us know how those servos look and work

Well, I have....aileron servo locked full up.....guess what the result was?

Seriously, though...other than that incident I have not had any problems with the Hitecs that I own...however, only JR's go in my high end stuff (personal preference..)

Had you dipped it in Corrosion-X? What I meant was that I'd never had a servo fail from getting wet that I had treated with Corrosion-X.

I buy the servos for my water rudders from Traxxas.
They make them as waterproof servos for the cars that run the mud.
They sell them as waterproof and haven't had a problem with them yet. Mine is mounted out in the open on the float with a control rod straight back to the water rudder.
