I am setting up the Optima 6 receiver . The receiver instruction connection diagrams show Channel 3 for BEC /Throttle . ( I am using Castle Thunderbird ESC with BEC ) . Can I use any other channel that I assign from my transmitter for this function like for example ch 5 instead of Channel 3? It seems to be that as long as I assign the channels correctly I can use any channel for BEC/Throttle ? Do I need a power connection to the rcvr as well ? Tks

It is possible to run throttle on other channels but be aware that in Acro mode, the throttle trim on stick will remain effective below 50% of throw only.
In Glider mode, throttle is switched and throttle stick trim is full throw of stick.
With regard to power connection, the BEC supplies that power through the red cable to the centre pin which is linked to all other centre pins
so it does not matter which channel power is input With EP, be sure to use the SPC feature, refer:

Its really easy to reassign the channels but from your response , I don't think I need to reassign the throttle channel from ch5 to ch3 . Throttle trim will only be used to set the low rpm when throttle stick is at minimum.

The target plane is the PA Addiction with a .10 equiv motor , 3S 1800mah Lipo . Is SPC really necessary for this small plane?
