I have an Ofna LX2e (as most of you know ) and what's going on is that oddly to spec it is not going as fast as it nearly should! Ok there's a guy that i know, he has the same buggy, Tacon 2000kv motor, 14t/51, and he gets 40-45 mph range.

I have the same buggy lol. Tacon 2150kv motor, 17/51, and mine tops out at 45 mph. I doesn't make any sense at all. The only thing i can think of is that the motor is new. and that batteries aren't the highest grade but that's it! Does anyone know why this may be occurring?

One guy said that it was the fact that i was using Ski Lipo's. I use 2 2s 30c 4400mah. And he said that they don't hold their voltage very well. But i don't think that those would account for pretty much a 10 mph difference

That's why I'm wondering if the esc is like worn out or something. Cause the receiver wire broke on it and got fixed. Would that do it?

There would be no problem if a wire had to be re soldered. It does not interfere with the electronics.

I didn't think that was the problem. I've been hearing that If I get real good batteries that it'll gain anywhere from 5-15 mph ( I really hope)

You need to be able to measure the voltage and amperage. The voltage is most likely fine or the esc would just quit if it has a low voltage cut off. But if your pack will not discharge at a high rate then there is your problem.

Yeah but the MAH doesn't affect the discharge rate does it?

It does.

C rating X capacity gives you the max discharge rate.

So a 40C 5000mAh pack gives you 200,000 milliamp,s or 200 amps.

A 40C 2500 mAh pack gives you 100 amps.

So 2 packs with identical C ratings could have different max discharge rates, depending on the capacity.

I have 4 of http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-50c-5000-2s1p-hardcase-2222.html on the way in. The price just went up today it seems, but still probably worth the $40 price tag for har cased Lipos 5000 mAh with a 50c rate. Those will be my race day batteries.

pyro - before you buy new batteries, I'd guess that if your batteries weren't up to snuff they'd be running hot - are they currently?

I mean, if the ESC is demanding more amps and you're battery can't give them, I'd assume they'd be hot....?

If the problem is in your batteries, then it might not be that your setup is asking too much of them, it could just be that the batteries are not as good as they could be. I just had some soldered up and delivered to me raceday by a friend, and these work better than anything I have ever ran. As far as mass-produced batteriesd, some are simply just a little "punchier" than others, even of the same C ratings. I have had a 25c pack that felt like 50 and vice-versa. Try using a true 4s for starters, and I would actually recommend Turnigy if you can, thay are actually very good batteries for the price!
