I have a Ziroli DC-3/C-47 that I am going to build as my winter project. Does anyone know if there is a fiberglass fues for this plane? I know American Eagle Model Products makes one, but their C-47 has 138inch wing where mine has 144. Anyone know what I can do other than build the wood fues.

Thanks,
PJ

Yes... you can make your own mock up from foam and make a copy in fibre clas yourself, it is not that big job. Ok it is making three models.. of the fuse ... but you can make one more if you have an accident.. for next to nothing.
It is worth the trouble believe me.
Claus.

Hey PJ!
Your DC-3 interest is a coincidence because I have a Ziroli DC-3 that I will be bringing out to Bomber Field next week to sell.
Basically I've got the entire center section finished w/ panels and horizontal stab done. The fuselage is stringer out, not sheeted. She's set up for G-38's. With it comes new Like's gear (electric), a scale tail wheel, 6" scale wheels , fiberglass nose, cowls and plans.

Sent me a PM if interested.

Nick

Hi,
Now that we are on the subject I am presently doing the DC-3. I managed to get a fiberglass fuselage from Germany but I will be utilizing the Ziroli plans that I had before.
Somehow, the parts are extremely close so it will not be difficult in using the Ziroli plans.

Can anybody please inform me of the best pair of engines for this plane, the optimum targeted weight and information on how this plane flies?
My aim is to keep the weight as low as possible and I had in mind in using the Mick Reeves PRO-SKIN fiberglass sheets instead of balsa covering in the hope that these will contain the weight build up.

Thanks for now

Regards

Reuben

Hi-
I noticed with interest the DC-3 discussion. We are right now finishing the first production version of a 380cm - 150"- wingspan all composite DC-3, complete with panel lines, rivets and other scale details. Wood and fibreglass prototypes have been extensively testflown. The model will come RTF both in DC-3 or military C-47 versions, both with functional service door and passenger or cargo door options, with operating nav.lights, landing lights and ready for Robart scale retracts. Ready-made cockpit interiors optional.
Power will be in the 38-45cc gas engine range; the demo model will have two Saito 200ti Vee-twin glow engines.
I enclose some pix of the prototypes and molds, also a composite Cessna 182 Skylane already in production. Upcoming and under development right now are scale 1:5 P-51D and P-47D, aswell as a A-10 Warthog for twin turbines. These models will have a wingspan in the 86" - 220cm - range.
Best regards
