Boeing P-26 Peashooter built from Royal Plans. Maiden flight today. The flaps were a little less effective than I thought they would be and I need to use high rates on the elevator for landing. All in all a successful maiden and I did two subsequent flights that went well.

Here is an edited version of the maiden video, with some of the boring far away and no plane on the screen shots removed. On youtube it's in HD:

Congrats...nice looking bird. Always one of my favorites, and not an easy one to get on and off the ground with that narrow stance.....and built from a Royal kit no less. Nice work!

Thanks Jeff. I did a build thread over in the kit section HERE. I had a kit which we used to make fiberglass molds for parts and copy the plans. I drew the parts in CAD and cut on my cnc router. Five of us started building them at the beginning of 2010, two of us finished. Here's a couple pics we took just in case the maiden did not go well.

Hey Barry, yes, I have thought of a large P-26 for years, but the gear and wheelpants is an issue with my limited skills . The P-26 looks great and always had flashy paint schemes to choose from.

Really really nice, even though I'm only a arf'er now, seeing a beauty like this make me wish I had the time to build again.
