I picked up a glider, AM radio and Craft Air Hi-Start for $25 the other day. The model was built inthe late 80's and the hi-start tubing is dry rotted. Does anyone have a source for this tubing. I hunted around online and it seems expensive to me.

This is my third glider. I have a Airtonics Cumic and another one I got used. I don't know what it is. I am looking forward to getting my hi-start fixed and my planes in the air.

Thanks,

Bob Elliott

My Lowes has it in the tubing dept.  Same surgical it seems.   I got 20 feet and I think it less than a dollar a foot.

Aerofoam.com or Hosemonster.com Same guy, same REALLY high quality tubing. Fast shipping and VERY customer friendly.
I now have 100" of the 2 Meter and 3 Meter rubber. They both are in two sections and the hardware comes with :-)
You can get rubber elsewere but the age and quality are hard to tell sometimes especially on the net. His is mandrel formed top notch. rubber. He has full high start sets I beleive if you need the line and chute.
Happy thermal hunting!

Careful on your sources.  Many places sell this tubing in 10 foot lengths.  If you order 100 feet you will get 10 pieces.  You would prefer one solid piece if you can get it.

What is the wing span and weight of your glider.  That will guide you as to what size tubing you need.

Excellent hi-start rubber and accesories

Inexpensive but not the best stuff

top of the line - hosemonster
2 meter would be good for 1.5 to 4 pound range.

The 3 meter stuff will give a 19 pound pull at full stretch. good for gliders in the 3-6 pound range as you don't have to pull it back all the way if you are launching a glider at the lighter end of the weight range
