Status: offline 		 question for you all.  last weekend, i maidened my GP yak 54 with an OS BGX 3500.  the menz prop i had for it, 20 x 6, got a small ding while i was tuning engine on new airframe.  then,i had a MA 18 x 12 prop. that i used on maiden flight.  plane did great, however, wouyld not hover.  so i ordered a zinger 20 x 6,, which i used today, and the plane, i feel , must have been moving 10 mph, once in air and against wind.  with wind, she probably was moving at 40 to 50 mph.
she could hover though, which was cool.  any suggestions on a prop for better performance.  should i use a 20 x 10 carbon fiber?

Status: offline 		i just finished bench testing.os box 3500.35 cc glow engine:with 15% nitro and 17 % oil plus small amount castor oil:
Zinger prop 20 x 6          7620 rpm, 
mejzlik prop 20 x 8        7410 rpm
zinger 20 x 12 prop        7180 rpm

Status: online 		Odd no one else responded. But it is going to be tough to advise you as to which prop is best suited for your plane and engine combination and flying style. I am flying a ASP 1.80 which is a slightly smaller displacement copy of the BGX engine and it runs happily with a 18x8 and 20x6 prop. I currently have the engine on a Aeroworks 80 inch Profile Extra using the Master Airscrew 20x6 prop as I don't fly it fast. But it is a little sluggish on the spool up so maybe a slightly smaller prop would be better. I'll have to try that out sometime.

Status: offline 		hi, thanks for commenting.  today i flew the GP Yak 54 with the os bgx using a zinger 20 x 12 prop, and plane flew way better.  took off in about 20 yards.  it was able to go vertical.  so now i have the 20 x 6 ziner, the 20 x 12 zinger, and i have yet flown with the 20 x 8 mejzlik.  i will try this one next, and tell you which is best.  i suspect with mejzlik.

Status: offline 		Use a Dynathrust 18 X 10 with good results. Don't do much 3-D stuff though, just general flying. Have on a midwest extra 300.
