The Scat cat is no longer available. Likewise the the Sonic 500 also seems to be gone! Does anyone know if something similar is available. I flew Scat Cats several years ago and really enjoyed them. I am not interested in the G. P. Vipers. The fuselage is too skinny for standard servos, and don't want a V tail. I have a good Jett .50 to hang on the front of a simple quickie type. My intention is to go sort of fast, not ballistic.

Scratch build an old style Spickler Q500. It's an easy build and fun to fly. here are the plans.

The Shotgun Q500 is the only one available that I know of that has a conventional tail. www.darrolcady.com sells them here in the US. They are made by Bruce Dechastel in Australia. www.BigBruceRacing.com.

Take a look here ...

www.matneymodels.com

If you want conventional, build a Pit Bull or Zoomer. Glass/foam Easy build if you are not racing it and just want a good, fast toy.. either are hard to beat.

Other suggestion is the new ViperDog. SEMI ARF you can use a stock Viper wing (and tail if you wish) and use the new fuselage.

Pleanty of room inside for standard servos.

Most importantly... reasonable cost.

Matney can provide pre-sheeted wings for any of the planes too.

Bob

Good opp for the Doddger kit, but I'll pass. I have ordered a Phoenix Models Sonic .25 low wing. I had one a few years ago with an O.S. .32 sx. It was pretty quick and flew well. I sold it to a guy who put a .46 in it and I understand it did fly. So, if I beef one up, why not stuff the Jett .50 in and see what happens! I should have it ready in 2 or 3 weeks. I can post the result if yo're interested.......JT
