Hi
Your Painting is not so light. You build very light, your covering is very light. In my opinion your fuselage painting is heavy. I think there gives another lighter colors for painting. (One component color) And then you can Save weight on fuselage painting.
This is only a idea for Save weight.
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

You right that Monolayer paint is lighter then the two layers paint.

But in my opinion the two layers paint is much more beautiful and luxuriant.

So I am willing to pay the price.

Best regards,

Isaac Najary

On the topic of carbon components, how tall is the landing gear? Did that come with the kit, or where is it from?

I just bought my first house. It will have an airplane shop. Thank you again for the inspiration and the advice and pics. It will take some time, but I will show pics of the shop and my first true builds.

Joe, I think that the gear is similar to the one that is sold here: http://www.bondaero.co.uk/Carbon_ucarriage_legs/p1085152_4986761.aspx , which has all the dimensions listed.

Najary,

Nice to see the entire painting process unfolding.

One question about the use of "patterns made of perforation paper" (ref. post #241). Is the perforation paper stick on the back, as I can not figure out if masking tapes have been applied to hold the pattern in place.

Thanks

Hi Nonstoprc,

Yes the perforation paper stick on the back.

The masking tapes have been applied to make only the straight lines and to stick the brown covering paper.

Best regards,

Isaac Najary

Thanks for the confirmation. Can you please provide some info on the type of the perforation paper used and where you got it?

Thanks again.

Hi Nonstoprc,

The Perforation Paper compounds from two parts: A white paper with glue on one side and an azure paper that protects the glue, It comes as a big roll.

I purchased it about 10 years ago, I was told that it named "Perforation Paper" and usually it is use by architects and I think it is produce by 3M.

That is all I know about it.

I tried to find it on the internet but couldn't.

Maybe some one cane helps us?

Best Regards,

Isaac Najary
