So I think I want to get a nitro buggy. I have been looking on towerhobbies, and I like the looks and specs of the Ofna Hyper & the Duratrax 835. Both are around a decent price as well for what my budget would be. Now my questions are... How is aftermarket support on each one? Durability? Tuning? Whats the stock speed of each? Are the good in the air and jumping? I haven't had a nitro in years, but yes, I know how to break one in. I just don't know a lot about the two buggies I am describing. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Does any of your local shops carry either line of cars? If the LHS carries one or the other I would go with whatever they have because they may have parts in stock that can get you back out quickly. If you dont have a nearby shop that stocks either, i would go with the hyper. Parts are everywhere for them (tower, A main etc), its a tested and true set up, they are one of the more durable buggies out there. The hyper would get my vote if it were my money, and those were my 2 options

Hyper in a heartbeat, it has the answer 'excellent' to all your queries; aftermarket, durability, speed out of the box, etc. It's a bit of a tank so it won't win many races in stock form, but it does what it does.

Well, I'm not into racing, mostly bashing on the BMX track, road, yard. Will the Hyper hit 40 mph stock? I don;t really order from my LHS cause they are outrageous and have more trains and planes than anything. I mostly order from tower or amain.

It'll just about hit 40 with a good tune. Add a few teeth to the clutch bell if you wanna go faster, no problem.

I think I've seen some people on here talking good about them, but I just needed some reassurance. Especially if I'm about to drop $400 on a new rc lol. I'll have to talk to the wife

The Hyper 7 PBS was my first 1/8th buggy and I have not a single negative thing to say about it that can't be said for any nitro RTR.

Ofna seems to market quite a few Hypers.  I thought the Hyper TQ Pro was $300  RCPlanet has the Hyper TQ Black for $280

Help me convince my wife to let me get this buggy. She doesn't like the hobby and the money involved in it, but I love it. I told her I will wait till takes come back (I get like $7k) and I will get her something. This is a PAIN!!

Kind of makes ya wonder if aftermarket companies will start to sell new wives as upgrades, or at least mute buttons
