If you offered me either engine then I would choose the Nova.......I have no experience with either engine but base my choice on what I have read and the fact it is a Nova....oh and it looks pretty with that lowerd head.
I would post this question in the engine forum where "supertib" will see it, he has experience of the NR and maybe the Axe too.

Do we get an insight into your project? As you posted in the on-road forum then I guess the engine is not for a truggy. Dependant on what you are planning maybe the NovaRossi 28-7T or a Fusion X28?

If we all had the same opinion the world would be a boring place.

The .21 vs .28 debate has been going on for years and there is no definative answer, some will say "the comparitive .21 will rev higher than the .28 thus reaching a higher speed" whilst others will say "the .28 has more torque enabling you to use a lower gear ratio....the faster you go the greater the drag".

From those two I would take the OS.. Easier to break in, cheaper, rep for reliability and ease of tuning, plugs are easy to come by, lots of pipes probably work well, etc.. I've read elsewhere of NR having crappy bearings..

my pick would be a modified Novarossi 28-7........... I have run and owned pretty much every worthwhile nitro engine oin the market, and this 28 is unlike any other 28 I have encountered yet.................it is not a punched out 21 like the other 28's, it is a dedicated build .28 with its own unique casing and connecting rod............The engine is larger in size then other 28's...which allows it to run a very long connecting rod to offset its long stroke.... what this does is reduces the rod angle which reduces the vibration on the engine..... Thw final result is this engine will rev out just like a .21, but has the monster power of a 28..........It is a 7 port sleeve design similar to a onroad design.......17.6 mm stroke and a 32.5 mm rod....in stock trim the engine has low timing, so its not overly powerful, however once the timing is brought up the engine becomes a monster unlike anything else I have seen...........

Any idea if there internal dimension differences between the 528 and the 28 7T crankcase Neal...and would you have any sleeve pictures there please? I can see that the crank/rod/piston/button are the same between the 2.

it is all the same as the 528 except the sleeve design...the 28-7 has larger ports and more port volume..........

Nova is a Monster, every one I see is nutso.

Not going with your Mod ZR30X or RB mods engine you have on the way. Man you must be stacking up on modified engines by now and going for more.

BTW, you said you had a RBModified 28 ordered, what engine did you get modified by RBMods? Is it a Picco? With a LRP, & Nova a Mod Picco would make a great trio to compare performance. Id love to see the 3 swapped in the same truck for direct comparisons, are you planning to test all 3 then run the fastest one? I have my money on the Nova.
