sounds like a good time, a goblin700? someone has some loose change!
No video of the miff? there is more to life than helis!
Rain and more rain up here had fun with the waco and put the little 450 through it's paces.
If the gail force winds will settle down this weekend my 550 has been whining to get out!
we will see.
I hope my nefews we not the deputys shot in Ca. chasing the loose nut.
Take care Hugh.
Oh on a somber note one of our flying budies passed away last week.
We will Miss Larry at the field.

All them jokers out there have a pile of disposable income! The sponsor from the LHS asked me if I brought something to fly and I said hell no! I left my little 500 at the house!

Yah, ya'll been gettin' all the rain.........hope we can get some!

I'm concerned for the deputies too. Tragic. Interestingly enough the 1st contact and gunfire in the mountains was by a Game Warden!

Sorry about your friend Larry and I don't want to seem indelicate but I hope his widow does as I have instructed upon my untimely demise. Call me buds up and GIVE MY "S" AWAY!

All the best!

That 600-700 nitro would have been great fun to watch.

I wonder what they will all think if I brought a couple of the HK450s along with the messy cable tie wiring, cheap servos and Orange RX's. With the #1 helicopter I actually had to hot glue the servo to the frame after the servo mounting horn snapped off.

Glad the hot glue is working instead of the solder!

If they don't really care about cheap HK450 clones, where is this club found?

Just remember the Millenium Falcon, tweaked by a pirate and a scoundrel easily outran those big Correlian Star Destroyers...

Still lurking occasionally.. whenever possible.. In Freezing Montreal right now getting hammered in the Bombardier Sims every day...

Larry will be missed greatly.  Sadly, He has no widow, only his sister is left.  Most of his Shctuff is in my possesion, but if the family wants it back, I will honor their wishes.  I hope to get by and see his sister this weekend.

^ Yes, very funny.  When my heli's have kissed the trees they have not bounced so well!   Hmmmmm.

A more mundane video contribution from me...

Hiya Simon!

Great windy flyin' and great windy "Brian Landing"!

No flyin' here as the Wx has degraded and off for a Valentines weekend with the "The Princess"!

However, I MAY get my airboat done this afternoon if all goes well!

Have a great weekend Pal!

I'm just enjoying a cuppa and contemplating flying my heli.  I fitted the Align parts last night figuring that having bought them I should use them.  I want to fly but it is breezy again!

Hi guys, I will be leaving for the farm in two hours time. Going to check out the new bull we bought and do the related farming things.  Do need the getaway as it is hell at work with financial year end pressure and being landed with two additional divisions to manage due to some guys who retired not being replaced. Must mention that I never work late and go home @ 16h25 every day. Suppose some may think that I have not enough work to keep me at work till dark.

There will only be space for the little heli, likely under the seat as Mrs E has already started to get her pile of goods that need to go along ready last night. Already set aside Sunday morning for flying and if Google Earth was live Brian could have watched my flying via GPS positioning.

Hiya Edmund!

Yah, my poor wife works before sun up and well after the sun sets and it really isn't healthy!

Working as hard as we can as retirement is 3 to 5 years away (I can actually fully retire in 8 months)!

I suspect that as quick as you can you will retire to become a "gentleman farmer"??

Have fun and safetravel to and from the farm and happy flyin'!

b

PS Anybody note over on RC Groups that I finally turned "Mr. Angry" around?? I LOVE a social experiment! HERE! Shame it couldn't happen with "Barbie Doll".

Had some average weather today with a few patches of rain.

I have been trying to make a vibration free mount for the little keychain camera on the quadcopter and I have definetly improved, but not gotten rid of the vibration. It has gone from waves to a blurry image, which I think suggests a high-speed vibration so I will go over the motors and props tomorrow and see if that helps. Hopefully it gets rid of it.

I currently have the camera sandwiched in a really soft sponge that I pinched off mum. Cut it in half, cut an outline for the camera and then wrap some duct tape around the whole thing.

You might be making the vibrations worse mounting it in soft sponge.
Try using velcro and a cable tie to hold it on and see how that goes.

Just got back from work. Home for a couple of days rest before I head back.
Had an open area indoors to fly in and had a ball with the nano.
Was going to shoot a vid of it but broke the swash before I had time.
Still took the vid but with the MQX instead. Enjoy.

Hiya Ingleburn!

Got a few more hours of work on small details like developing the well needed KILL SWITCH along with the FAIL SAFE on the Orange 7.

Further I'm taking delivery of the Dectrum yaw gyro (of which I have given away many) so as to reduce the inherent "sketcheyness" of the yaw of the Air Boat.

It'll be a hoot once the small details are done!

Heading to a nice B & B with the Princess this morning!

All the best!

Im using one of those dreaded HK 401B gyros on my hovercraft and it works better on that than it ever did on my helis.
Makes cornering so much easier and when I turn it off the thing goes crazy and spins in circles.
If you have a spare might be worth a try.

A kill switch would be handy. That prop would do some serious damage.

Yah the Dectrum GY48 is the HK 401B anaolog that's easy to acquire here in the states!

Nano looks GREAT!

Hi guys,

After trying Ingleburn's suggestion to cable tie the keychain camera rigidly to the quadcopter I took it for a small flight and I was amazed at the results!

Glad it worked. Maybe you can get it inverted and mow your lawn.

Not that I can talk. Mine is twice as long.

Today I went to fix the Nano. Found a broken tail boom so made a solid one.
Putting it back together found I had a broken frame.
Lucky my LHS had one in stock so its nearly ready for a test flight.

They also had a BL MCPX in stock but for once I was good and walked out without it.

It is possible (and fun) to cut the grass with the quadcopter, but the grass is a little bit wet from previous rain. As for having my Helis cut the grass? No thanks, it will just get too expensive!

You also reminded me to get some parts for the MCPXs. If I can recall correctly I think I need a new frame and more links and grommets.

You guys out there that own Nanos or MCPX's and are sick of your growing collection of broken skids check this out.  www.diysoup.com/do-it-yourself/hobby/remote-control-helicopters/air-time-rc-products/

There a bit pricey but if I bought a set 3 months ago I would be way in front. The site also has great tips on both helis.
