Hello Guys. Im new around here first post. Although I have been lurking for a while. I have a Volcano EXP and I have been driving it on pavement alot. This really beats up the tires. Does anyone have a reccomendation for a better tire for this.

I've been using these on my Lightning. They still don't last that long, but they're dirt cheap.  Unfortunately they're out of stock right now, no idea when they'll get more.

in order to use those on a volcano, youd have to re-gear the truck. those are way smaller than volcano's tires.

The proline dirt hawg tires are a good option. I have them on my tornado epx pro.

they are still a bit smaller than the stock tires, but I think they are close enough.

Nitrosports so you feel the 2.2 are close enough to the 2.8 that gearing is a non issue.

Thanks for the replies guys.

well, the stock rims are 2.8....but the wheels have a short sidewall. thus, they are pretty close to most 2.2 tires with a normal size sidewall.

The dirt hawg tires will be smaller than the stock tires. A set of masher 2000's on 2.2 tires will be the same size as the stock volcano tires on their 2.8 tires.

I hope that makes sense...lol.

There arent any street tread tires I can think of that will be the same diameter as the stock tires. Closet that comes to mind would be either the 2.2 dirt hawg....or the 2.8 anaconda tires (traxxas)

OK, I found my tape measure.

traxxas 2.8 anaconda's are 4 inches

proline dirt hawgs (on my tornado) are 3.5 inches.

So the anacondas should be a better fit. Its just a matter of whether or not the traxxas 2.8's will work on the volcano.

Or, you could take the time to boil the stock tires off the rims and then glue anacondas onto the stock rims.

yeh, they wont wear down quickly on pavement like the stock tires.
they have a firmer sidewall as well, so the truck wont roll as easy.
