I'm considering installing 1 or 2 LiFe batteries (2 in parallel) to power RX and SERVO's in a 81 in OV-10 powered by 2 Saito 91's. I've been told that with LiFe batteries they are safe to leave in the aircraft as opposed to having to remove LiPo's for fire safety considerations. Looking of pro/con discussion

No con's. They dont self discharge or require a regulator and they are perfectly safe to charge in the plane. I get genuine A123's from WrongWayRC.com for my reciever packs, he can put whatever wires on them you want.

Balance charging with a Cell Pro is quick and it balances the pack every charge.

+1
Absolutely the best chemistry for RX applications.

I've been using LiFe Rcvr battery packs for about 3 years and they have been perfect. I used to run NiMh, but did not like the way they self-discharge. IMO I think LiFe is the best thing ever for receiver airborne batteries.

Thanks for your reply. Have ordered a couple of the Fe batteries. Next question, have you considered LiPo's for your TX? I'm getting tired of having to charge the NiCad's all the time.
