I recently aquired a Tamiya King Tiger and i was hoping someone could help solve an issue for me.
I did try searching for this issue but had no luck finding anything.

I have the cheap Futaba 4YF 'Skysport TX with the R136F receiver. I have been through the set process on the DMD and i cannot get recoil or muzzle flash to work.
When i flick the test switch on the MF01 they both fire and work OK - just not from TX.
Everything else (forward/back/turret rotation/barrel elevation) is fine. Is there a step i have missed or do i need a better TX or something?

I really appreciate any help guys as i am a complete newbie when it comes to Tamiya 1:16.

Status: offline 		I'm using the newer RX 168DF in mine and have no problems at all and I'm not a radio magician either.

Try it as I think that number you have has been discontinued.

Status: offline 		Since you have rotation and traverse (The elev/trav. motors do run right? Not just make sound from the speaker?) there should be little doubt about the joystick not working. Or the Rx for that matter. Double check your work step by step starting with the communication cable and the Rx wires (in proper order). Most importantly...before running the Tamiya set-up....double check that the trim tabs levers are centered to zero trim. Then run the full set-up in your KT build manual...you should have no sound from the speaker while running set-up. Does the speaker make the main gun sound while the strobe and recoil fail to work? On that I am unclear.

Status: offline 		All I can suggest along with the information already provided is the following tidbit. When you do the programming procedure, as stated, make sure the trims are centered. After that, only move the sticks about halfway through the range of travel from center position. This will allow you to make sure that when the throttle is pushed all the way that the main gun will fire and all the way down, the MG will fire without ever having to move the trims from the center position. Hope this helps. Let us know if you geet it going.

Problem seems to have solved itself.
I took your advice and retraced my steps - i think i was doing the set up process incorrectly.
Instead of moving the stick from top to bottom i was moving it from center.

Thanks agian for the help guys - really appreciated.
