I use Shell. You can get it at a Shell distributor and save a lot of money if you buy it in a 55-gal drum which is probably the only quantity they sell.

I mix Paraffin oil and baby oil at a 50/50 mixture.
Works great for me, and I get it cheep.
You can get the products from any hardware or chemical company.

Check it out:

http://www.smokingairplanes.com/smoke-oil.php

Shipping to the east coast would be high, but the MSDS link shows the ingredients of their product - looks like plain mineral oil - the guy at smokingplanes said it was parrafin based mineral oil, with a small additive he said wasn't necessary. He suggested checking with local oil distributors to source it.

Be sure to check the MSDS of anything you plan to use - some stuff can be highly carcinogenic when burned.

Is diesel still ama legal? I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned it. That is what I have used., it works great for me -at $4 a gallon, on the way to the field.
But I may try some fragrance oil from wallmart to mix with it, just for the smell.
Anybody tried any used french fry oil from a restaurant?
If it worked it would be a "green thing"!
and make everybody hungry at your fly-ins.

I've used diesel, but it does not really produce the volume of smoke that SD does, and it stinks if you get a lung full after someone does a low pass smoke on............

There are lots of home brew recipes out there, but I prefer super dri myself. It's expensive, but the results are worth it...

This is super dri on a single injector tube behind a Titan SE:

I agree Wayne.

You don't get awards like this using Robart oil....

Super Dri produces great smoke or sure... Still a rip at a buck n a quarter for 5g IMO.. The ROBART sky smoke in a nutshell was a waste of $$.. Thin grey looking trail at high speed but not bad if you are going to be putting around.
