Hi all English Electric Lightning enthusiasts!

It was really nice to have so many good feedback on Jetpower Fair and here on the forum. It was not my best flights with the EEL, a bit stressful to fly the first time in such a big event.
Here is the link to my build thread with a lot of pictures: http://www.jetsofnorway.no/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=535&start=10

Best regards

Hi Trond,
If you were nervous it did not show. Your flight and your model are inspirational. It is the first time that I ever saw a Lightining model with the correct amount of power. Thanks for taking the time to talk to me about this model. I will send you a PM.
John

Does anyone know the dates for Jet Power 2013? I have to book leave way ahead and I know it is the third weekend in September, but for next year that would be 21/22nd, if you count full weekend, or 14/15th if you don't.(The 1st is a Sunday).

Bloody hell John, talk about forward planning

Why don't you just email Winnie and ask him? His email address is w.ohlgart@t-online.de (cut and paste from here http://www.jetpower-messe.de/neu/?lang=en)

Lozza

A pocket camera, just goes to show that a master can make anything look good, what camera was it just for interest?

Lozza

You are a wag, I just looked up the Nikon spec above £500 for the D300 body and nearly £5000 for the lens, I think I will stick with my Sony Alpha for a while longer.

Come on Mike embrace the future Nikon

LOL actually the one I used at Jetpower is the mega bucks one, 300mm F2.8 is collecting dust at the moment, too good to sell, still paying off Royal Bank of Mum for the 200-400mm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toying with the idea of upgrading the body to the D800, will stew on it for a while whilst consulting the money gods, as I need another turbine for the F5, anyway jet flying today first time in ages happy days, slowly processing the shots from Jetpower will be up online soon hopefully.

Nah went for the Sony Alpha because I already had a bunch of AF Minolta lenses that fit the Alpha, I only have one decent lens its a 50mm 1.4 it does not get a lot of use though.

Sorry to all for hijacking the thread, but it was interesting to see what Lozza uses.

Anyone see the Tomahawk Quantum Mono fly? Looks like it should be a lot less draggy than the Futura with the smaller intakes, the top wing removed and at 2.3m span ideal for 120+ engines.

Nobody? Thought it might have caught everyone's attention being a slightly larger sportjet that'll compete with the CARF Ultra Flash.

Hi Dominic,

I fly the new Quantum Mono, so far I have about 10 flight on it and like it very much.
With a (old) P160 SE it has plenty of power. It flys very much like the futura and I think
it is the perfect jet for aerobatic with a 16 kg turbine. I also have a small futura with a P160,
but I think the Quantum is the better choice for this thrust class. A P 120 should also work fine.

Regards

Christian

Thanks Christian. Appreciate the reply. I like it a lot. Good way for Tomahawk to shift some of the Quantum airframes (without that top wing) I guess as I think they were for the more discerning jet owner. High on my list for a Winter build. Next I need to find out what the standard schemes are. Cheers.
