I've gotten spoiled by the information that my Spectrum STI gives me via my Iphone. Speed, Altitude, Battery Life etc etc but the one thing I haven't found yet is a report on Air Pressure for my doors and retracts. Anybody know if something like this is avaliable and if not...why the heck not?? I was completely dissapointed that I wouldn't be able to go electric doors/retracts on my F-16 (nobody makes a door ram that works well with my 1/8th scale Tams F-16) so if I have to use air I would really like to monitor the pressure using my ground station.

Anybody have any news?

The Tams failsafe will monitor it for you, one less thing to worry about

I use Down and locked conversions on my FlyEagle F-16 with steel cables to pull the doors shut behind the gear legs.

I'm not a big fan of the tams failsafe. When I am working on the system, I don't like that there is no "OFF" switch for that unit. It drops things when I really don't want it to. I would rather have the ability to monitor it myself and I'm addicted to the information given back just as much as I am the flying. =) I realize there are other options out there to open/close my doors etc etc but the option I have isn't one I'm going to change for now.

Having said that...Terry can you post a few pictures of exactly how you have your doors setup with the steel cables?

Hi PP.

There is an "off" for the TJ failsafe .. you hold down the button for 1.5 seconds to disable it.

Also, if you have a spare voltage input on the JR telemetry system, you can buy sensors that transduce pressure to voltage (in fact there is one inside the TamJets unit) .. you can get them "raw" and wire yourself if you are handy electronically, or buy a unit pre-packaged from one of the other telemetry vendors (e.g. RCAT systems part no 470, $80).

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help! I didn't realize I could turn off the failsafe. And I will look into that voltage monitor.
