I took a perfectly good 1/6th Stuart and went bonkers on it. Made up my own version of what Jeb Stuart should have had to battle the kitty kats with, the "Haunted Tank".

Yanked all the stock electronics, in went a Sabertooth 12 dual esc, and a HobbyKing 6 channel rx. Added a pair of servo operated switches to fire the main gun( more on that in a bit) and to operate the turret. Not too bad, made it proportional speed wise. Slipped the battery to the center for better balance, and fully water proofed it up to the turret.

Then cut apart all the lamps to install SuperBright LED's fore and aft. Even made up a fully adjustable spot lamp for it.

Perfect finish and tracks had to go, so they got the full rust treatment, what a comic book tank back from the grave should look like.

Onto giving Jeb and edge in his battles with Hitler's best. Said bye bye to the silly 37mm, and slammed in a 120 smooth bore. It's actually a custom built one off full metal Airsoft gun, no cheapy plastic for this one. The gun weighs 5 pounds by itself, and has a heavy sniper barrel added to it. Can fire off singles or empty the magazine of 40 rounds in 30 seconds. Took the original Stuart barrel and lengthened it with brass tubing. Fires at 400 FPS, and has a range of around 150 feet with a 20 gram ball. Has servo operated elevation, and when it fires it needs no sound effect. Dang thing shakes the tank without any added recoil action.

It's comic book authentic so anything goes. Has a laser sight mounted in the mantle, controlled by the tx. And a color video system mounted above the cannon, with a range finder that can be turned on or off remotely.

And since it's the Haunted Tank, it has to have a Rebel flag flying off the antenna.

Poor Jeb has been around so long he's nothing but bones. All built from bits and pieces from the scrap box.

But he's got a set up now that put fear into anything it faces.

Status: offline 		Well i'm glad to see someone else go out on a limb,let your imagination run wild and do a tank your way and different from what every one else is doing.To me it's like a breath of fresh air on this forum.......

I'm no different than anyone else here.....There are a lot of great looking tanks....paint jobs....and interesting work being done here.
But i also find it a little strange when some of the members here seem to get their feathers ruffled when someone wants to build something no one else has and something that may not be in the military history books or that comes off the shelf either built or in a kit.A tiger tank is a tiger tank..........You can use different paint schems......But it's still a tiger tank......How many tiger tanks have been posted on this forum.....?

I'd put tracks and a turret on a chicken house if i could get it in my hobby room................. At least it would be something different...

Status: offline 		Perry here you go, a shot of the cannon internals. All steel and brass.
Motor has replaceable brushes so it should run quite a while.
And yeah forgot the decimal point, they are .20 gram shells

Seems to take the sand quite easily, even deep grass and such doesn't slow it down.
I installed a set of brass bushings on the idlers as they're prone to wear.

Even had no problem ripping through the wet stuff after Ivan passed through, all internals were bone dry afterwards. She's not much of a light tank anymore, she's pushing 80 pounds now.



As for the Red Barron, no worries there. Look a little higher, Snoopy is at his 12, sitting in his Camel ready to pounce.

Status: offline 		That's sweet. When I had my Stuart I went with the 40 cal paintball marker. Feed was always a hassel for me though with the bigger round. That turret is a cavern so lots of room to work with. Good job on your installation. 400 fps is doable in a 1/16 turret but working with established metal airsoft equipment has to be more reliable.

Status: offline 		While I'm posting, I'm a complete newbie on sound systems. I did rig the stock board to work but it was a PITA! (see pic)

I know there's got to be something simpler out there, I just don't have a clue as to what to use or how to do it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
