Hi Michael

thanks for the compliment.
The delivery time of my new BVM-F100 is 3-4 week. I want buildthe secound a great deal better with much more bits and bobs then my first.
My first HUM was 15.8 Kg with a 200N Frank Raptor. My ambition for the new one is 15.0 kg

As much of one from special extras: For my first HUN i developed and testet last jear a exhalation/vapor system for the condense air (mist) on the wingtips. Now ist's ready for the new one.  Really phat!

Hi Rainer,

How did you manage to get the weight in at 15 kg???

Michael

Think light!

My first Stretched HUN was 15.8kg. The next F-100 become the same turbine (Frank Raptor 200N) but the light version. Alone this saves 330 gramm. As next i replace the 4'000mAh/Kokam through a 1'300mAh ThunderPower. The 4'000mAh have 387gramm and the ThunderPower have 110gramm. Thats saves 277gramm (I have to change the turbine akku each flght).  Alone turbine and turbine akku makes a different from 600 gramm.
Farther i'm a passionate balsa builder. They are a lot of parts, they can realize very light and realistic in balsa. And if it saves only 5gramm each part, finally it's not a little (20 times 5 gramm make 100 gramm). Here some examples of balsa builded scale parts.

By the way: the date of delivery is end of september. The self made parts i prepare alredy.

4. This one is from Dan Avilla. He was right since I had to try it once. If you land hot...and you KNOW you will go long and OFF-Road. You can comfortably lock your brakes up, slam the steering left or rght, and literally do a ''hockey-stop'' with the Hun. Those soft BVM tires won't thank you, but your turbine will, and so will the hundreds of hours you spent on the finish. The ordnance will thank you, and also the wings that would have otherwise have the tanks and ordnance rip off them and possibly damage the wings. I did a full hockey stop one time last year. The Landing gear handled it as if they were purpose made for it. Any chinese ARF would have the trunions explode, the struts bend 70 degrees, then the Retracts pull straight out of that cheap 5 ply. My Hun just kind of came to a stop sideways and looked at me and said ''dude, you are weak, you are a pu$$y, you call that a hard stop? That was soooo easy for me to do that I think I liked it. Get your pathetic attempt at stressing my landing gear out of my face you panzy''. <-good.

Happy Landings all!

Great post Sahz. Good tips, especially #4.. Motivates the hell out of me to finish mine..

That was a close shave. But i dont want try a hockey-stop; unless it's essential. With a maneuver like this you risk easy a turn over and the model. A turn over with 40 lbs and 20 mph is a bunch of bull

Your welcome David. It is always nice to share with guys that have similar interests in the scale jets. Do you have any pictures of the Mig 21 tail cone?

Rainer, this is done with the same material Greg used on his F-100. I flew with Greg just a few weeks ago and as a matter of fact he has helped me a great deal while I have been setting up my F-100, and he stood with me at the flight line while I did the first flight on mine. He gave me very good instruction while flying and setting up for landing on the F-100. I can't thank him enough for all of the help he provided to me.

I had a lot of help from Dan Avilla and Phil Nuza as well and Phil did the maiden flight at Kentucky Jets (thanks Phil). If anyone ever needs help on a BVM F-100 there a lot of experienced F-100 pilots out there that seem very willing to do everything they can to make sure you are successful.

BTW, I am very sorry to hear about your F-100. I have seen your pictures posted many times and you are an excellent builder for sure...

Gary,

Sorry for the delay, I got busy with other things but here's a couple pics of the titanium tail cone on my Mig 21.

The date of delivery form my new BVM-F-100 is in 10-12 weeks :-(
Anyway i started already with manufacturing of some scale parts :-)
At the time i work on the operable canopy mechanism. It's a little tricky, because the canopy should be open, close, lock and unlock in similar manner like the full size F-100.
To lock/unlock there moves not the hooks but the whole canopy slide forward respectively to backward. That is to say: to open the canopy slide at first a little backward and then it will move to open.
All the hooks and ears should looking real as possibel. The lock parts are very small but very strong and unbreakable.

FANTASTIC work Rainer!!! Your attention to detail is very nice to observe.
At 1:7 scale, this level of detail can be very hard to reproduce.

Please keep the photographs coming : )

The open/close mechanism, all hooks & ears are done and ready to install.
@Michael: Yes, a nice detailed 1:7 scale is not a easy project. I wish the F-100 biger. Airworld has a big one but the accuracy of fit isn't perfect as BVM.
My current scale project based on experience from my first BVM F-100 and my extremely detailed scratch built 1:6.5 Mirage 2000C.

Here the picture form the ready to assemble hooks & ears and some pics of my Mirage 2000C as appetizer.

The front panel is drawn & ready to produce. All instrument dial, cursor (with the right ground-cursorposition), warninglamps and types are drawn exactly from the "Cutter HUN radio call 63948".

Rainer,
Excellent work, your attention to details and craftsmanship is really impressive! Are you planning to compete in the next World Masters?
But I got you on the scale of the G-meter; the neutral position of a G-meter is +1...
