The P-40 is the only reason I joined this hobby.

I've owned 6 P-40's so far. TF Redbox kit that I built and sold before ever learning how to fly. Four VQ-P-40's. Crashed every one of those bad boys. Current TF Gold Edition ARF that weighs about 13 lbs or something. A real pig but probably the most scale-flying plane I've ever owned.

I would love to be in the P-40 Brotherhood.

Mike,

My .60-size Top Flite P-40 weighs about the same but I like the plane as well. If it within your means to do so, consider the Top Flite Giant Scale P-40 with a DLE 55. If flies delightfully.

Thank You guys for allowing me in the brotherhood, next to the B-17 the P 40 is my fav plane. I remember watching the TV show with the flying tigers when I was young so when I build mine even though there are a million flying tiger planes out there I'll add to that number lol.

Add me to the Brotherhood, I will have my 94" Zirolli P-40 done next spring. It's powered by a ZDZ 90, so it should have performance on par with any gasser out there.

I would say Dave Brown or True Turn for the spinner, and I like the Master Airscrew props because they look more scale. Some say they lack performance, but I still like them. What engine are you running? Never mind, I found your earlier post " O.S 120 Pumped 4 stroke and a 16x6 Prop"

http://masterairscrew.com/3-bladeseries.aspx

Although the OS 120 Pumped calls for a 15X8 3 blade; the 120 glow, DLE-20, and e-Flight Power 60 has all ran very well on the 15X7 Master 3 Blade.

True Turn 3 blade spinners

you can also get a three blade from TRoy Build models and an uncut spinner , also Cheif aircraft sells props and "Pete Spinner" has the correct shape of the P40 , also sold by Chief aircraft

Thanks for the prayers , we were in the direct path in Central Pa but despite flooding and wind , many (not all ) but many were blessed enought so that we now can help others .
Jershey was devestated ! they need our help and our prayers

I made it through also, locally damage was minimal but over in Jersey where I have family it's a war zone near the shore. This is 2 years in a row and I don't know how they keep doing it. We only lost power for 2 days, very blessed indeed.

We survived in PA but I am semi retired and work out of an office in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, New York. Can't get in touch with anyone connected to the office. Since the office was only a block from the ocean, I think the situation is not good.

With regard to P-40s, I'm down to just one. A modified VQ P-40. I totalled my P-36 (almost a P-40) and decommissioned my Top Flite kit built 60 size P-40, used the hardware elsewhere and sold the airframe. It was heavy and a pig to fly. The VQ with a DLE 20 is a bit heavy but flys ok, certainly better than the TF.

I'm nearly finished with my Skyshark Warhawk. I did the final W&B this morning and she weighs 22 lbs with just 1 lb. of lead in the nose for balance. The CG is at the forward most point, so I'm hoping the lead will come out after flying.

One hard over rudder equals smokin hole. My YA P-40 is no more. I had the problem earlier and sent my RX and associated stuff to be checked out. No problems noted. I even changed my rudder servo just in case. I presume I had a short somewhere in the wire bundle which caused the problem. Make of radio not important as it has flown several airplanes for years without problem and even last night got 4 flights on my jet without any issues.........
