Happy New Year P40 flyers!

Has anybody yet discovered or heard of a good electric retract for the Hanger9 P40? I have air in my H9 B25 and electrics in my TF P47. It just seems like electrics are going to be the way to go???

Good show gaumflyer,

My Dad travels to Oklahoma from Florida a couple times a year and we get to fly together then. It is still as fun as it was when I was a kid, except now I am the PIC (Pilot-in-Command)/instructor.

I would like to be added to the roster. Currently have the Great Planes Combat P-40 and also have a Skyshark P-40 waiting for assembly. One question about the Skyshark, I was wanting to change canopies on it. Has anybody done this or not. Looking to make it a "K" or "E" model, I havent been able to find a different canopy for this size of plane.

The topflite GS canopy will fit, you will have to build up behind the seat on the Skyshark to make it work.

No I didn't but it fits. I have bothe the Skyshark and the topflite, also a spare Skyshark in the box. When I retire my Skyshark or it goes in, I'm going to scale out as much as possible with the TF canopy and such.

To the guys with the Skysharks, which wheels are you guys using. I'm not a huge fan of the dubro wheels. Would like to find something alittle more scale that wont break the bank. Glennis wheels are out of the question.

DAKOTANOVASS,

Have you considered Robart wheels and tires? They offer straight and diamond tread tires and their wheels are plastic or aluminum. Both of which can be purchased with the solid wheel cover like the P-40. Also you can order separate components to match what you need, or replace damaged or worn parts.

I have used their wheels and tires on various size aircraft and they have proven to be affordable and reliable.

I have looked at the plastic robarts, but they do not go up to 5 1/2 and the aluminum 5 1/2 tires break the bank. Did the P-40's have diamond tread or were they ribbed.

I looked at your photo and see that P-40 has diamond tread. I assume that is what they originally came with.

Yes, the diamond tread tire worked better for grass surfaces.
