You are indeed lucky to have a Tiger so early in your flying career, and I can only imagine how much it is teaching you. I was lucky to have a Craft Air Scout as my first low wing trainer and I still have fond memories of that ship. You will remember your pink Tiger forever! Have fun and keep in touch here.

Status: offline 		Well I hated red when I was younger but now its on most my fun flyers because I can see the color red way out. The tiger is my favorit to just get out and have fun with its always one that goes out to the field with me and that is saying allot because I have 85 airplanes.

Hello and welcome Steve

That pink is not so bad. I like the pilot figure too.

Just got finished with a Major project. I read all of the "club saito" forum here on RCU
23120 posts, 925 pages, going back 7 years, I have been at it since July. I am a slow reader.

What a gold mine of information. I wonder if this club will last that long or attract that much attention.
I sure do have fun with my 3 Tigers.

I just finished my hand carved, painted and adorned pilot figure for my Tiger 60.
I tried to make an exact reliplica of my friend from the local flying field.

I have a youtube video that I freeze framed and used at the pattern. I will post the pics of the model and the vid for you to judge if I did a good job.

Hairy, perhaps we should start an airplane hoarders club. you will have to go first I only have 32.


Edited to say, Oh and bring in the TV cameras and the lights and I wont' get rid on any of it. pull in the 20 yard dumpster. I will place one epoxy stir stick in there and say , thank you very much.

Status: offline 		I flew my TIger this weekend in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The Blue & Grey R/C club were having a memorial fly-in event. The club I'm in met up over there this weekend.
It was the biggest R/C event I've ever been to.  I was nervous flying.
I got my hi rates and low rates mixed up  (user error being nervous forgot to confirm my own radio) and I nose dived into the cornfield.
Lucky for me that was my foamy F4F and I'll never do that again, ever.
My Tiger flew well in the gusty winds and I had more fun with her than ever before.
I was doing loops and forward summersaults one after the other.

I'm using an APC 12x8 on a Thunder Tiger .61 pro.
I think I'm going to try a 12x6. 
The fuel I'm currently running (fall going into winter) is Wildcat 15% nitro.

Some friends snapped some photos and video I'll post it when its online.

BTW: most of the toys were aquired after the Wife decided to fly solo.

36 LBS of thrust , perhaps too big. What is 650 C converted to F on the exhaust gas temp.

that sounds like it would tighten up the covering

Status: offline 		One of my problems is I have about 25 or 30 planes that need repairs that I dont want to throw away but I don't thinkI will ever have time to repair...They take up space I could use for building or flyable planes...I have aquired them over the years from buddys that have passed away or guys that have crashed one that is still rebuildable but they dont want to do it so I take it and end up with a ton of parts if nothing else...Everybody is always comming to me for used gear or tanks or motor mounts etc. etc. Kinda like an auto wreckers for RC planes...Except I give it all away

Sounds like you are hurting the local hobby shops. when you look at that pile of airplanes, remember that you need to have fun, this is a hobby.

So to help you out I will hitch up the trailer and drive out and unload all those things that are annoying you. can I get directions?

Update on my Tiger 60 ARF. Well the Webra 91i and I didn't get off to a good start. After a hour or so a day missing with it I finally trace an air leak to the Perry pump VP-22sg. I had bought the pump new so hopefully should warranty it ok. I decide to hook muffler pressure up only since I was running a Webra muffler thinking if would supply enough pressure. It did. The engine came alive. Turned a APC 14x8 at 9300 rich, not too bad. Pretty good idle for a new engine. Ok here is the not so good part, after getting the engine running good and ground testing it I decided it's was time for the air. The 91 flew the plane great and pretty fast. Engine got better every tank. It was getting to be the end of the day and I was practicing my landing when on my last landing I got to close to the power lines and one jump out and got the plane. Looking over the plane all I can see is the five or six bays in the front of the wing need the ribs repaired along with the leading edge. The wing tube is intact, but will probably needs to be reseated. I prop even made it un-chipped.

I would greatly appreciate if I could get a copy of the plans of a built up wing, by PDF or hard copy. Please PM me.

Status: online 		Sorry about your tiger computermonkey ,those trees and power lines have been attacking my planes more and more every year. I started to put together a china tiger 60 and got every thing installed with a os 60 in it when i came to the steering on my nose wheel. I had never seen such a half arsed piece of garbage for a nose wheel push rods in my life .It has been sitting in a corner that way for 4 months now and sooner or later i will either fix it or sell it. I could not afford a tiger kit when i was younger and my building other planes has taken over now but i got the tiger in a trade and we will see if it flys or not. joe
