Ok so i was pretty set on buying an e revo brushless but then someone mentioned the thunder tiger mt4 g3 to me. I looked it up and it looks sick. Lets pretend that money is not an issue. Which truck is better all around. I had a t maxx 3.3 and am not looking for something like that. i want a truck that is super fast on the street but can handle bashing, off roading and high speed turns without rolling over.

Please post if you have experience with these trucks. Please do not post if you are going off of hearsay or what you have read online.

I need answers quick because i can get a sick deal on a e revo today. The Thunder tiger mt4 g3 is no where to be found online and doesnt look to be in stock till the end of the month (or so they say). I have no patience to wait till the end of september and it still not be around.

After 27 years in the hobby, I don't always need to run something to know it's better or worse than something else.

I'll tell you something objective though. The TTR is better value and a much better chassis. The E-Revo is much better supported and has better stock electronics.

For me, as a heavily modified Svage Flux owner, between the three trucks if you offered me just one, I'd take the TTR in a heartbeat. Main reason? Easy, it's based on a 1/8th truggy chassis.

I saw that you wanted it to be fast and mentioned an E-Revo doing 80 mph.. I'm sure you could make the MT4 do that, but it's pointless and useless. You will never use that speed for anything but speed runs, and it isn't fun to watch a $1000 car explode because you made a video of a toy car going fast.

Get the MT4.

Not to get off topic... but yes, doing 80+ MPH is fun. Speed runs are a blast especially if you have a GPS strapped to the car and can record your runs!

Too many cars for me to do it.. but when I had a F103 running 7.5t it was pretty fun. I just don't get it in a monster truck.
(By the way this is on topic, he asked about it in his other topic)

How good of a deal are you able to get on the E-Revo if you don't mind me asking?

its built like a 1/8 truggy, which the second most durable platform out there (#1 is 1/8 buggy), and because its built on a truggy platform, it will handle better, and has less parts to wear out or break, and its less expensive, and because it has bigger beefier tires.

And $550 or less for the MT4-G3.. almost $100 less.

Don't know why people are so attracted to Traxxas...

That's a pretty good deal. Just a thought but at that price you could get the E-Revo and if you don't like it you could sell it and get a TT MT4 G3 when they are back in stock.

Well Tower has them listed for $774.99 so $630 is pretty good any way you look at it

Edit: Ah other car.. either way I think the TT might be a better vehicle, even for cheaper.

I meant the E-Revo is listed for $774.99. That link you provided is strange, none of the pictures work on my browser and when I go to Tower the TT MT4 G3 is listed at $587.99.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCJDX&P=SM

I gotta say though any money saved on the TT should go into to getting a new body, the one it comes with sure is ugly.

EDIT: I was typing while you were editing.

LOL. Yeah I don't know why I'm hating on the body, I don't even like the E-Revo body all that much. I've seen a lot of people using the VW bug body on the TT and they look pretty sweet, pretty darn good bashing body as well.

thunder tiger mt4 gets my vote, tougher than the traxxas and much  better value for money. I hope one day that thunder tiger will be as supported in lhs as traxxas but thunder tigers don't make hobbyshops as much money in parts as they do for.....

does anyone know where to buy this? I only see it at tower and out of stock, google doesn't even come up with shopping links. seriously was thinking about a revo, love the look of that truck for years now, but even on the traxxas forum, they are bashing their own truck, thats sad really.

The Flux XS is nice, I have one, but the MT4 would run that over like a stick in the grass. Since it is based on a truggy chassis, it will handle great, take beating, and come back for more. And depending if you swap out the electronics to run 6s, it will blow your mind. On 4s it would be crazy. Don't let the looks of the overpriced E-Revo buy you over. Just because it isn't and HPI or Traxxas or Ofna brand, doesn't mean it is junk. I thought the same thing, but these off brands that have come into the scene lately have been punching thru competitors with durability and craftsmanship.

Thunder Tiger isn't an off brand though...

As for the flux XS vs the MT4 that would be like comparing a pinto to a mustang in performance they are 2 completely different things even though they are both sold as MT's. The xs is a high COG MT that has poor handling, and is intended for wheelies, the MT4 is a truggy with big tires on it so it will be able to take turns going fast, and shouldn't wheelie much(well or be able to be lowered with tinkering with the center diff). This isn't taking into effect that the MT4 is probably 2X bigger than the flux XS, and will be able to literally drive over it...

Yeh I was gonna say that. 40 million gross revenue, by far the biggest RC brand outside the US. The MT4 is also 6S ready out of the box.
