Did they say where they found it?. Didn't seem to have the dirt of a dug-up vehicle and I doubt they would have been able to start it. Seems to me that stating a vehicle that's
been dormant so long is a risk. They didn't show the rescue crew doing anything about fluids and such.

I'm sure that cutting torch operation at ~9.28 into the video was to render the main gun inoperative. Sad to have to mutilate it so.

Jerry

Fantastic find. looks like it had been sitting there in the field for years and they just decided to see if it would crank. I'd like to see it when they have it completey refurbished. Shame they had to de-mill the gun, but I can't believe that moron welding with no eye protection at all.

When they were rocking it to try to break it loose the first time I found myself actually doing the same with my body to help.

Yup I thought the same. Eyes are difficult to replace.

After finding it in such a condition I would be devastated to have to put a torch to it. Ah, but I doubt they had any way to register for legal possession, or simply did not want to go through that.

Thats awesome. Amazing that it could actually drive as well as run. Plus it still has enough grunt to climb onto the tank transporter. Amazing.

When Russia started falling apart, they could not pay their military anymore so machine guns, tank, fighter jets and other vehicles disappeared and was made 'available' to private owners.

Now this one seemed to have been on display on a military facility and if you offer enough money, you can buy anything.
There are still quite a few out there. Shipping to the US will likely be a deal breaker.
