Hey all you Farview guys, I've been trying to get in touch with Lee to see what we have to do to come up a visitors to fly this Friday and Saturday. We have been playing phone tag the past few days and my email server dropped his email with his number so I'm looking for some help getting in touch with him. I sent him another email tonight regarding this subject. We ( Jimmie, Harold, and myself ) scheduled a vacation together and were supposed to go to E-jets but the plans changed when Harold lost his F-16 this past week. We still were wanting to fly jets this coming weekend and our local club does not allow us to fly turbines except twice a year. Jimmie wants to get some buddy box stick time building towards getting his waiver and I need to test fly my EDF BVM F-86 if I can get it ready by Friday. Can someone tell me other than Lee what we need to do as visitors. We have the hotel reserved so if we can't fly we need to cancel it by Thursday. Thanks guys for the help.

We had a great time over the weekend with the guys from Farview as usual. They had a partial year membership so I joined the club while I was there on Friday. Mark, Erik, Jim, Lou and so many other to name welcomed us like old friends. We are planning to attend the Fall event and if you can come you should as well. Best of all we got to see a 50% electric cub fly on Sunday morning that I shot some video of on my IPAD to show my home club guys that the limit on electric stuff is just funding. LOL. Every club should take a lesson from these guys they DO NOT have club meetings, they have a few basic safety rules, and anything that needs to get done they pitch in and do it. While we were there the lady who cuts the grass stopped by on Friday and the guys from the club explained to her that we were from out of town flying jets and asked if she could come back on Sunday or Monday to cut. She said no problem and her husband was there cutting and vacuuming the field just before we started flying for the day Sunday morning. Can't wait for the fall event and for our next trip up.

Hey Reggie, I see you are going to need a spanking! And I'm just the guy who's going to do it! .

Hey Ron, thanks for the great review! We do try hard to be laid back and it's all about the fun. And hey, it's not every day you get to see Irwin crash a heli! It's only the days that he shows up! LOL!

Take care,
Jim

yes sireeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Ditto everything Ron said above!!

It was a great weekend, lots of stick time, and I am comfortable with P-70 in the Facet.

I hope to have my waiver by Hamburg, but not sure if I (we) can get back up there before the event.

See you in Oct.

I agree Dan. Family obligations keep me away from flying on the weekends so I have to take what I can get.

May try to go up friday if anyone is around.

Gents,

I am thinking of heading to the field to fly this weekend.  Does anyone know the field conditions after our recent little Noreaster?  Based on the weather reports, the weekend looks great, Iand I don't think Hamburg was hit that bad.  Just want to confirm field is cool before I head over.

Thanks again!!!

Wes

Wes,

You'll be very pleased to know that the field is in great shape and dry. Did manage 3 flights today but it was pretty windy. In the air the Futura didn't seem phased by it but it was a direct cross wind so landing was a little more challenging. Here is a video from one of the flights. I clipped out the parts that my hat cam didn't pick up.

I wish I could get out this weekend but will aim for at least a day out there next week. Must make the most of this good weather while we can. Soon it will be perfect building weather....

Hi Wes,

Good to see you this weekend at Hamburg. Looks like you have your Hawk dialed right in. Glad you enjoyed the Panther flights. Hope we can get there again before the bad weather....
