To all the guys at TRC and their better half’s; esp THE CCQ (the only person I have seen go 1 up on HPA).  Great show!!  You guys met and exceeded any and all expectations.  Count the SDP guys back next year with re-enforcements.

Thanks again for the hospitality.

John & John

The turn out of this event went beyond our expectations thanks to all of our guests, who came from as far as Texas. Everything was great, including the weather (except Sunday). I think the choice of the venue was one heck of an attraction that contributed greatly to this turn out. We cant' wait till next year to see you all again here in Va. Beach.

I had a blast. I saw some of the best 1/3 scale planes up close and personal. The flying out there was amazing

I learned so much talking with John and John about their planes and engines and all.

If course we learned a lot of " Old English" words from HPA and all the ODP guys!
Yes the moderators would scrub them if used in a sentence so the forecast next year is more Fokkers!
R, Mike

What really made this event in my mind was all the hard core WW-I guys who took a chance and drove to see our Mid-Atlantic Dawn patrol gang.

Thanks 110% to Glenn Torrance and all his buddies who made the trip. The trophies were very impressive and turn out above our expectations.

44 pilots. In all and everyone's plane was awesome. So many cool memories.

My own best time was dogfighting with Art. We had a ball.
Hey, has Art finally broken through and won something now!

Lots of expertise and free advice too! Thanks to vogalsang, Torrance, Camel Mike, Ed Andrews, Mueller, Romeo, on ideas for my Tripehound.

HPA too as he had a sample engine and lots of advice.

Fellas,

I gotta jump in here again and commend all who contributed their time and energy toward making the MAD Patrol such a grand event!

I am sure that Scott was a little bummed about not being there due to unforseen business demands - BUT his choice of guest host was definately outstanding..........I sure don't know how he swung it but I am a big fan of NCIS and was estactic meeting Mark Harmon. After a little coaxing he got into character and gave me a famous Gibbs head slap.

LIFE JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER !

Cheers,
Art

Mike, that was one of my high points, too. After a couple of minutes we had it going pretty good,eh?!
We will definately have to continue that next year. First at the ODP and then back at the MAD Patrol!

Art,

I'm toying with the 1/3 scale Nieuport 24 or some plane that Maj Lufberry flew with the Escadrille.
Also considering making the 1/3 N-28 from BUSA as my 1/4 scale looks puny now.

Any documentation of early nieuports that Luff flew? Keep an eye out please.

Great job to Alan.

He is so committed and drove all the way from Texas. I have seen his builds on SRCB and I was enthusiastic to finally meet the man in person. He brought his 18 yr old SE5a and his larger D-VII. Very nice work. Check out his latest: Blackburn monoplane for the big 2014 centennial on SRSB.

I truly appreciate all his insights for my own Tripehound as he has already achieved that model.
He gave me some great advise and I thank you!

Art,
Many planning to make ODP next year! Can't wait.

I too loved that tripe. Ed did a fantastic job and every detail was so cool. Same with so many the voting was really close.

We need more pics. I can't get mine done for a day or two yet.

Speaking of D-VII and tripes, here is the YouTube video of the Saturday highlight.

Full scale replicas in formation that was coordinated by Jim S. of TRC and Mike S. of Fighter Factory.

Credit to racbgc. Two thumbs up video. 5 min long. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PsLjFCg1BZA

I`m glad you found the video I took. It was about twelve minutes to start with, edited down to five. I did have a great time flying my Pup with all of the WWI pilots. This was my first WWI only fly-in and I believe I will attend more in the future. Thanks for the great time. Rick

A big Bravo Zulu, nice job to our district IV AMA Vice President: Bliss Teague and two others. I met too many folks and having a senior moment.

These three model builders and flyers represented AMA for all of us! Some really great reps from our district.

Many kids, fathers, and mom's got to hear how modeling is for all ages and a great family hobby.
I hope you got to see some flying as well in your 3 day trip.

Thanks for all you do guys!

To all of you,
I am so glad that all of you had a good time. We put alot of effort into this just for you. Future MAD Patrols will be geard to the pilots. This is for you to enjoy the hobby and friends.
You made the event what it is.
I am just recovering from it.
Many thanks to the AMA and the IMAA for coming to the event!!!
I have been to many events and learned alot about what to do and what not to do. I hope we met your expectations.
OHDP WOW! that about sums it up for you guys. You guys are a great bunch. Paul, the CCQ has your number and cant wait to lob some more shells. She said it was too eazy. You may have met your match. I dont even mess with her. Always watch out for the quiet ones.
I cant wait to do this again. I hope all of you can make it next year and bring more friends.
Expect the same and amybe a bit more, we will see, As long as the world dosent end on the 22of Dec.
GTM, Thank you very much.
I will be going to the OHDP (god help me LOL) and I will try to make the Southern DP
I know there is much more that I should say and people to thank but my brain or what there is of it is cooked.
Again many thank to all of you.....you too Paul LOL

V/R
Scott
