Any of you guys know where to buy a LVC for a 5S lipo? I have several lipos for various RC's that I have like the ERBE, Rustler, MCPX, Align 450, etc, etc. My 1.2A Ni CD batteries recently died in my B&D 18V drill so I decided to replace the Ni-CD with a 5S 40C 1.8A lipo. This is cheaper than buying a new NI CD battery. This way I can use my 400W 20A lipo charger to recharge this battery along with all my other ones. Re-soldered the wires in the housing to the adapter and the leads to the lipo and works great. I also have a lipo LED volt meter/alarm as well that shows the voltage and alarms me when the lipo gets around to 3V per cell or in my specific case around 15V. Obviously since I have no ESC to program the LVC to, I cant seem to find a (I)integrated (C)circuit to buy for a 5S lipo. I just want something that will cut off the power completely to the drill instead of having to constantly look or hear for the alarm. Im surprised Im having a difficult time finding a product to fit the above description. Thanks for any help. I have seen some that built a IC PCB for this issue but not for an 18.5 lipo.

Joe,

I think you are over thinking the situation.
I to have converted my Ryobi to LiPo.
I didn't put in any alarm circuitry.
When your voltage gets down to 3.3 vpc you will be
so dissatisfied with its performance you will charge it.

Just my opinion and experience.

Good Luck,

Here are some of the finished project pics minus the PCB for the LVC. Still working on that.
