If you are a slope piolot, then you should have a fearless approach.

1. Practice spinning round and round to your left until you can do so without getting dizzy.
2. After takeoff, make sure the plane touches nothing but air.
3. Keep the plane away from dirt and grass until the engine quits and it is time to land.

The best tip I can think of is to run a 6x2 prop if you are new to control line planes. APC makes them IIRC.

Make sure your lines are non stretch. And stick in an extra washer of outthrust for now.

For your first flights hold the handle in your hand with a stiff non moving wrist and point your whole arm at where you want the model to go.

A field of the proverbial foot tall grass isn't a bad accessory either.....

The airplane should balance on on near, no more than 10% MAC back, the leading edge.

Rather than spinning round and round, try walking backwards in a counter clockwise circle. Easier to do and less dizzying. Also you can look beyond the plane flying and still keep track of it. If your a rank newbie at controline, fly the tank partially filled for shorter flights.
