Looking for information on this engine from people that have flown a OS .95v  FS. How well has the engine performed and what about durability?  With SPA approving this power plant for 2013 need all practical information and opinions available.

Thanks

Tim

The engine was delivered yesterday. It looks nice, hopefully I'll find time to run it soon.

Honestly I have only used OS 61 SF abc's, just looking for a change. I will test a variety of props, any request that are accessible honored, along with static thrust numbers.

On YS and Saito I like Power Master 30% Heli, would this be a good choice for this engine?

I use 30% heli Cool Power brand in my .91. A variety of props tested would be great and useful information. Hope to have reports from you soon.

Tim, a gentleman posted test results on the SPA email list last night. I think he obtained around 400 more rpm on the 13.5x9 than he did with his 91, same fuel.

Blake, that I don't know. He mentions the 95 is totally stock including the funny looking muffler with baffle in place.

I got my answer, lol.... Turns out it is a fellow club member. Small world. This guy is gonna be a real good addition to our group; he showed up after a long hiatus from the hobby and placed first in sportsman with a Trainer 60 powered by a K&B 60... First contest... Geez. :-)

Here is what he wrote:

I just ran a new OS .95 on the bench, on the third tank of fuel, I leaned it to peak a couple of times and got 9630 rpm with an APC 13.5x9 prop. I was running CoolPower 10% (17-18% synthetic oil).
This is lock, stock and barrel as it came out of the box, baffle still in the funny looking new muffler and all... I'd like to check out a bigger prop...

I had an OS .91 Surpass II w/pump on the same bench with the same prop and setup, tach'd 9240.

Blake, that would be Sam Corlett. He used to be a rep for GMP helicopters in the '80's flying for John Gorham. He has a varied background in full size and model aviation. Now he works for the FAA. Did you see both his Trainer 40 and 60? Immaculate!
