James, It could, but then, quite possibly it couldn't on the 9x6. Tuned silencers are tuned to a specific RPM range. The Tower muffler is said to give a 1,000-1,200 RPM boost, over the standard OS 783 muffler, on a 10x6 when mounted on a .46FX, but on an 11.5x6, the boost was only about 400. The 9x6, just the same, could bring the RPM to higher levels, than the muffler is tuned for. So boost could be quite modest. Besides, the Magnum/ASP/SC/SY engines are already equipped with the extended, high volume silencer, Irvine .53 like design; not the short, low volume OS design. So the boost could be even lower. You wouldn't know until you try.
