Always liked that one too.. reminds me of the Lockheed YO-3A Quiet Star.. this one is available as a kit, have one but not built yet. Pretty decent looking kit.

Here is my all balsa 58” 5.5Lbs Beriev. Flown off the water and ground. The water taxing is great. Not the best flyer. It has tendencies to tip stall easily. For this reason I do the landings at higher landing speed then I would like. I might build new outer wing panels with 3 degrees of washout or just build new model with the wingspan of 72”.

Status: offline 		George, the Piper Enforcer is one of those I would like to model as well. Hard to find really good information on though. I do have some pictures of the cockpit of the full size which were sent to me by a gentleman who is gathering information for a book on the type. MB-5 documentation is inbound by the way.

Radical, the YO-3 is definitely on the "unique" list. I had the chance to see the full size last year while visiting the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Az.



ARUP and Laddie, the Beriev is very interesting, both the full size and the model. Not overpowered as noted by bobbeagle but they sure sound like they are!

Here's another on my "to do" list and, in fact, I've already drawn plans for it. Just got to find time to build it. It will need to be built light I have a hunch or it may end up being a pilot eater on the ground.

Curtiss Wright CW-21B (The B model is the one with inward retracting gear rather than the aft retracting of the original CW-21. I prefer the B.)

You are not alone in your pack rat nature! I probably have enough money in books and other reference material to buy another house. And since the magic of ebay.....my collection is steady growing! Like you said, I will run out of life long before building everything I want....but it sure is fun to have the "airplane of the day" and pull out info on it.

By the way....the Jill (Jap torpedo bomber) belonged to David Foster. It was entered in Masters class for three years I believe and did pretty well. David lives close to me and is now working on a Kate.

I will look forward to Mr. Foster's Kate as well although it is not quite as high in "cool factor" as the Jill in my book! Probably be a better flyer though. While we are on the subject of Japanese warbirds here is my dream project and, unlike most of the selections I've posted in this thread, one that I actually plan on getting to eventually! In fact, again, I've already got plans underway although I think I will be going a bit larger than originally intended.

Status: offline 		If I were a "heavy metal" modeler, I'd definitely be doing a couple of the Japanese warbirds. Dave Anderson is currently finishing up the plans for a Ki-45 "Nick" at 1/5 scale.

Have no fear of twins, I have built 3 twins now, these are my first electric models ever and they also are biplanes as well, a Gotha GIV, a DeHavilland DH-84 Dragon and DH-90 Dragonfly. they fly well, look good in the air and not much chance of single engine out, graveyard spin scenario happening. It opens up a whole other world of modeling. give it a try!

That BE 103 video is way cool. I find myself thinking about the details on a build. I'm already way too busy, so thanks alot!

Destrat-Not fair mentioning the DH 84 and DH 90 without pictures! My wife is after me to build the DH 89. I bought a set of plans, so someday...

Ah, yes, but then there's the whole evil universe of batteries. But, yes, I have thought that if I were ever to do a WWI twin-engine, I'd probably have to go electric.
