and you are probably still no where near the cost of an XO-1

So true, but it will never be as aerodynamic as the XO-1, if u can get 100mph from it stock what about one running a Castle XL2? on 8s?

Aerodynamics is something I need to do alot of work on right now. The problem with the XO-1 is that it's gearing is limited and its heavy. with the tallest optional gearing available it has a final drive ratio of 3.856:1. with the gearing I'm running right now the GTP2e has a final drive ratio of 3.328:1. I can go as tall as 2.672:1. on 8s the 1717 1650 has the same potential RPM as my 2200 on 6s. The XO-1 doesn't have the same potential for top end speed as the GTP2e. With the same final drive ratio the XO-1 with the XL-2 on 8s will be equally as fast as the GTP2e with a Mamba 2200 on 6s. but the GTP2e has more gearing options and will be faster! One advantage the XO-1 has is that it will probably launch better since it is heavier. And as you already said it has the aerodynamics, but I'm working on that too!

I did see a GTP2e on Youtube today that topped out at 141 MPH so I guess thats my new goal!

god I wish I had a place to run one I'd buy one and fling in my MM into it with 6S

but seeing I can't even find a flat enough place to run my TT01e this suckers out of the question

Once I hit at least 120 or better with it I'll gear it for 50mph and run it in a parking lot. this thing handles like its on rails. put some bald tires on it and you got an awesome drfter! These make great ralley cars too. There lots you can do with it besides just straight line speed runs.

Here is my solution to help keep the front end down. I hope. I cast a piece of lead to mount on the front bumper. I poured the lead into the bottom of a Pepsi can and its about 3/4 of an inch thick. It must be at least 1 1/2 pounds. I'll test it out tomarrow night.

I know that seeing it looks like it was built from a buggy.

hmm seems someone made the scrt10 into a rally pretty easy hmmmmm seeing my 1/8th scale buggy essentially is a scrt10 I can prolly do that pretty dang easy

Dammm I had no idea about the XO-1's gearing that's heaps sucky. Sounds like u have a Awsome benchmark chassis to start with, wonder how hard it would be to make a under chassis tray out of lexan that fits up to the body and nice and close to the suspension with a diffuser at the back?

Now its ready for speed runs! Body reinforced with several layers of tape. Duct tape and clear packing tape. Thats right... camo duct tape! The body feel much more solid now I think it will be able to handle speed much better.

104 MPH!!!

Between the added weight to the front end, the extra body post in the windshield and the reinforced taped body this thing handled awesome!! No rippeling of the body, the front end stayed planted thru every run and the body looked solid as it flew by me at 80+MPH! I also removed the rear wing. I think it was pushing down on the body too much and deforming it at speed which doesn't help the situation at all. I actually stopped the run earlier than I needed to because I don't trust the Deans connectors to handle this much current since I have melted them the last two times I ran it. I plan to go to my LHS in the morning and see if they have any 6.5mm bullet connectors. Once I have those I'll hold it wide pen untill it stops accelerating! Sorry for not taking a vid. But my phone was nearly dead and I don't have a good place to set it where I was running tonight. Maybe I will try to biuld some sort of mount for the phone to sit in and I can set it on the roof of my 1:1 car for vids. anyway I'm pretty excited to get into the triple digits with this car and I know it has alot more in it still too! But the difference in running it tonight and a couple nights ago before adding the wieght and the tape is night and day. it feels like an entirely different car now. I do have quite a bit of cogging when I first take off. I try to keep it rolling and not let it stop too much. I probably need to make some adjustment to the ESC setting before my next run.

Nice that's awesome. Change up those plugs, we don't want to see 100mph in to a wall.

I thought for a minute you had switched to brushless or maybe you had worked a maracle with one of your nitro engines!

have you considered cutting part of the rear bumper, maybe make a few holes on the hood (over the tires) and take the weight off the front?
watch that 141mph run and take a look at the back of that warrior body.

Cutting out the rear bumper is my next step. I will trim down the weight in a bit until the front starts to feel light. What would cutting holes in the front above the wheels do?

Let the air scape.
But I would try the rear bumper first., with and with out the lead weight.

Hit 104 again tonight with it. The video is currently uploading and will be posted soon. I also wrecked it in the same video but these cars are tough and can take a royal beating so the damage isn't too severe! Pics too! 1:45 of the video is pretty awesome. You can see sparks LOL! This car scares me to death everytime I run it! I'm beginging to think I may not want try to go any faster with it But I know its capable of much more so I will anyway!

I have the front end put back together now. All I needed was two body posts which were included with the kit! I also decreased the amount of weight on the front end by drilling out my wieght. It is probably half its original weight now. I wanted to do some more runs last night but the road was wet since it rained yesterday. I have also ordered another 6s battery. This time I went higher on the discharge end. I got a 6s 5000mah 65C-130C Turnigy NanoTech. It should help with my cogging issues and give me a little more power on the top end too.

Front end weight "swiss cheesed"
