Status: offline 		I'm looking for a new home for my OS70FS. I just removed it from my Hangar 9 Cub, (long story short...I just can't seem to overcome the ground-loop problem, so I sold it). I just wasn't having fun with that plane.

I'd like suggestions for something for my engine. I'd like it as large as possible, (getting older and I need to see 'em!). would another brand of Cub give me the same situation, maybe a Decathelon, Taylorcraft?

Status: offline 		While I have a Saito 82 in mine, I think you'd be very happy with your OS 70 FS in a Toledo Special. I love that plane. It has classic nostalgic looks. It flies slow, but it can fly fast. It is as aerobatic or as tame as you want it to be. Ground handling is a piece of cake. It is pretty large...almost 70" wingspan. Just my 2 cents. Jon

Status: offline 		Pretty much any 60 size plane but it is under powered for stunt planes in that size like Extras or YAKs, doesn't work well in warbirds either. They work great in planes like the 4* or high wing planes. You will have ground looping with any short moment plane with a big wing and narrow landing gear. You could have bought or bent wider LG for the cub to remove the ground loop problem. Ground looping was a huge problem in WWI, look at the narrow gear and short fuse and you will see why.

Status: offline 		I had one on a Revolver, too. Great combo. It would also be good on a .46 sized Stick.

I also had it on a Sig Rascal 40. Another excellent combo.

Status: offline 		I had my old O.S. 70 in the older version of the Cessna 182. The ARF is not to bad. Yes there are problems with the hardware> Replace the bad stuff. Mine flew very well with the 70 in the nose. It would cruise at 1/2 throttle and looked so good in the air.

Status: offline 		If you want as large a plane as possible, why not a Sig Kadet Senior? I've been rocking an FS70 in mine since I learnt to fly with it, and it's never given me any troubles. More than enough power, even when flying with floats.

Status: offline 		Second the Kadet Senior recommendation. Lots of slow-flying fun, and you can build it many different ways. Adding ailerons is a good idea: easy to do and it turns a lot better. You can make it a tail-dragger, put the wing on the bottom instead of the top, etc.

One fringe benefit: it flies so slow that even when you crash one it doesn't do that much damage. I hit a tree on final a couple of weeks ago (thought I was in front of the tree when I was behind it) and had it ready to fly again in a couple of days.
