Status: offline 		 Here's my little L59 with a Jetcat P20 installed. This was bought from Hobbyking  for $230 shipped.The air frame isn't too bad.
I will edit this tomorrow with a ready to fly weight, but I'm estimating it at about 3.300gr empty.

Status: online 		I've read good things about the airframe as well. Seems HK's main problem is getting it shipped without incurring damage because of the poor packaging. Have they come to their senses and sent it double boxed?

Status: offline 		The model is about 1.100 kgr when it comes out of the box.
No,it is'n double box.My plane has only a little crack on the nose but i will hysol it.Not a big deal!

It's the most scale plane that you can install the P20.It's large enough,you can see it easily from a big distance.Instead of the Habu that you can lose it from your sight in no time!
And it's very beautiful.

Status: offline 		Hanz..Your weight is Very good! Mine is an EDF for the time being..but it weighs 7.6lbs without retracts, and flys amazingly well.

My only recommendation to you guys building this plane, is to glass the wings where they join top and bottom. You dont really want to trust some kids glue job or even the glue they used do you? There have been reports of the CMP Hawk wing separating at the wing joint. It comes pre-glued like the L-59

The flight envelope of the plane is simply amazing! Will do next to nothing in a 10khm wind or can be blisteringly fast on the downwind(edf) for a top speed of 165mph for my plane.

If your P20 does the stated 5.25lb of thrust you still need too optimize your setup to keep the thrust when installed. It's very easy to reduce thrust if you install the pipe wrong.

The distance from the exhaust of turbine to the tail of the plane is almost 15 cm.The distance is very little so i install the exhaust just to protect the plane from the big heat and to align the exhaust gas.
If it was up to me, not to install the pipe,i will not be install her just for weight matter!

you say it your self in "no excuses" :-) it's very easy to make 1lb of thrust vanish(!)

Tim.. I thru away that cheep cockpit area. It has no structural strength at all. I replaced it with a light ply sheet and bulkhead that a latch could hold on to. I put a dowel up front.

Yes of course,i know that's is very easy  to make 1lb of thrust vanish ,but I did not excuses my self.
The exhaust is 12cm long and the turbine gases are free flowing!
I believe i have all of the 5.25lbs of thrust of my P20!

I did the maiden today.Success!!!

The plane was very  fast for the size of it! I'm very impressed!! Very stable in flight but very steep!

The control surface movements are too much in all surfaces.The manufacturer gives 15-20 mm on AIL and ELEV,me i have them on 15 mm but it was too much!Needs lower movements!

I think the best scale plane for the P20!!

How can i say that...bluntness,brusqueness!

Thats,because of the big surface movements that the manufacturer gives.If i decreased them i believe that it will be fine!
I didn't have the luck to do a second flight because the nose gear has broken.
Very little glue on the nose gear reception.!
Mavbe the chinese boy who build my plane had to go for break and drink sake!

Hi,

We found it differs depending on which setup you run. Diameter and length of the pipe, bellmouth shape etc. If you want to optimize the setup the only way is to test it your self. As the test bench only costs €99 includeing all you need it's not much to argue about. Neither Grumanias, jetcats or Lamberts recomendations were the best in our testing. I have not tested a P20 yet but are soon to do so. Test were done with a Kolibri turbine. You can also use the test bench for making a linear thrust to stick throtthe curve.


This was not right in our test.
