After few months since I bought my original SUMO truggy I was thinking how to make it faster better stronger cooler. here are the results, I hope you like it: Upgrades are : Metal front axles $9 Metal rear axles $9 Metal rear differencial - $12 metal front differencial - $12 brushless motor EZRUN 5200rpm/Volt by Hobbywing -$15 18Amp ESC by Hobbywing - $21 2.4 GHz 3CH radio and 3CH receiver by FLYSKY -$47 Fatshark video googles - $299 5.8GHz , 100mW transmitter and receiver -$80 3S - 1300mAh battery for Goggles $20 2S - 1800mAh battery for SUMO CAR $15 mini OSD - $8 ( shows VOLTAGE and running time on the video screen ) I tried running Sumo with 3S battery but it was overkill it was so fast that I could not control anymore and slight changes in steering at the top speed caused SUMO car rollover at every corner. 2S battery at full speed is good and controllable. Video range on the car is about 100meters ( 300ft ) when antennas see each other or about 50 meters with obsticles on between antennas. Video transmitter has build in Microphone and it helps alot when you can hear motor via headphones while car is far and you cannot hear feedback from the motor. I will make few videos directly from FPV CAMERA and will post here. Adding more OSD /FPV equipment does not make sense because SUMO suspension cannot take more than this. For this purpose I bought another 1/18 model already with brushless motor and I will add GPS, with OSD so I can monitor speed, and distance , voltages on all batteries ( VIDEO and MOTOR ) and install more powerfull transmitter for longer range.
