Status: offline 		there has been talk about doing piston/sleeve repairs.... I just so happen to repair a fair amount of engines, i basically just stick to working on CRE engines, But I figured I would show how I do some of the repairs....I am not much for describing things, so I will post the pictures and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.....The engine pictured is a C6 USA...it lost the circlip on the exhaust side and took out the piston and put a healthy scratch on the sleeve... The piston unfortunately is too far gone for repair...But I think the sleeve can be saved.... I will find a used piston in the shop from a Nova/RB of that series and match it to the sleeve, or match the sleeve to the piston..... I can lap the piston smaller, or I can pinc the sleeve smaller..I own the RayA Racing tooling set ........I mainly use a flexi hone in my lathe for cleaning up the sleeve, It does a fantastic job .....

I also own the Raya Racing pinching tools and my own custom piston lapping die set...

Status: offline 		When I have to repair a piston, or resize a piston I use these here custom made lapping die's ...I have a die for every bore of engine I work with....I use 1200 grit clover lapping paste

Status: offline 		I decided to pass the piston thru the lapping die for a few minutes....just to show how it works with the 1200 grit.... if i wanted I could use much more aggressive abrasive and take it down substantially more..and yes that is a modified piston and rod....rod is lightened and so is the piston.... the circlip was still in the piston, but the dog leg snapped off

more or less....except i am only honing the sleeve.... and I will find a piston of that style and I can either take the piston down to fit the sleeve, or take the sleeve down to fit the piston... I will likely use a piston from a P5 XLT...tho i will check my engine box and see if there is anything else suitable....

not really.....what you see here took me all of 5 minutes to do...the piston/sleeve is worth about $200.00 with the mods.... so the 5 minutes is definitely worth saving a $200.00 piston/sleeve set..............
