Status: offline 		Getting ready to maiden my UF. I know from some others that the throws in the manual are a bit much. For those flying the UF, what throws do you have for elevator and ailerons and measured from where, tip or root. Thanks.

Status: offline 		Im flying mine at around 70% of recomended on the ailerons and 80% of that on the elevator ... I could still cut it down some still ...

I maiden my Ultra Flash the day before the new v2 update was posted. The original settings were too much for me. It was a "white knuckle" flight. I now used the V2 settings.

Status: offline 		With the CG at 230mm, these are the settings I use which makes the model quite smooth to fly.


CG Gear down & UAT full – 230mm from LE

Elevator +10mm/-11mm 40% expo; +1mm normal (at tip)
-1mm T/O
-5mm Land

Ailerons +9/-10mm up/down 40% expo
+6mm Land (at tip)
Rudder 45mm each way

Flaps 27 -30mm T/O; -75mm Landing

i tried first flight on mine and the book is a bit much
i have seen you fly before so set up dual rates just in case and start flying at high rate

so you can lower if it is still much

its a little brother to the u l but in the same family and style

i will be out there saturday with my UL and we will have fun>>>>!!!!!!!

Status: offline 		I think alot of people have settled on very similar settings for the UF, we found the Manual Throws to be a bit too much, the Full Flap position especially seemed to almost slow the airframe down too much (I know it must be capable of very slow flight) but often it would have to be flown right onto Finals on the power, so we reduced this slightly and it feels alot more comfortable for us.

Rudder - Low Rate - 35mm (1.3 in) / High Rate - 50mm (2 in)

Elevator - Low Rate +/-6mm (0.25 in) / High Rate +/- 11mm (0.4 in)

Aileron - Low Rate +/- 8mm (0.3 in) / High Rate +/- 12mm (0.5 in)

Flap - Take Off - 28mm (1.1 in) / Landing - 75mm (3 in)

Down Elevator - Take Off - 3.5mm (0.15 in) / Landing - 5.5mm (0.25 in)

Crow (with Full Flap) - 5mm (0.2in)

All of the settings are using between -40% and -50% Expo (Futaba)

Sorry if this is confusing, I thought the Bold would show the settings better but it just doesnt its taken about 10 mins to remove a everytime Id put 2" and then a bracket and Im suppose to be trained in Computers

Are you using flight modes or are you just using dual rates?

Status: offline 		Weve been using the High Rate Elevator for Landing but other than the that everything else is left alone, High Rate Aileron is only really used for slightly higher roll rate for vertical rolls before Split S or Reversals, its actually my Dads UF and I have a Classic, but the one thing he's noticed is that the High Rate Elevator is a must on Landing, because the High Rate feels a little pitchy when flying around, he's set his up so that the Gear Switch also changes between Low and High Rate Elevator.

Good Luck with the Maiden, Im sure people will of already mentioned this and dont want to sound like Im teaching how to suck eggs, but when it comes to landing, Crow will make a big difference on the consistency of the landings, using about 5mm just seems to allow it to settle where as without it, the airframes seems to pitch up and down even with the smallest of Elevator Inputs, and when it turns onto Finals, even if it looks very slow, avoid adding that quick burst of power as when it reaches you itl still be flying well within its limits and will sail on by......ask me how I know The UF will slow down to almost walking pace, I couldnt believe just how slow it would fly, and ours isnt exactly the lighest build weve done.....Painted Internals, Merlin 140, Powerbox Evo, Dual Lipo's.

Best of Luck with it, you'll love it, I havent flown a huge amount of different Jets, but its definitely the best flying model Ive hada go with, and I can say that as it isnt mine.....yet

Hey GAbe, If you need some set up numbers, check with Andy on his UL, he likes what he has, but get the CG right first.
