well, it is a jet .. ( on the inside at least :P ) .. I was going to wait to get some better video, but looks like time wont let me any time soon, so I'll post this...

I was planning on building a big 1/6 scale 412 for a long time, however I came across a beautifully built one ready to go that I could not pass up on . Its built by Ian Thornley from the UK.. I had some issues setting up the Futaba gy750 gyro, but i got it squared away after finding it had some default values on the expo settings which were causing the tail to be out of control at first ... anyway, here is video from my sons cell phone ( i know, not that great ) of the first actual flight ...

The helicopter is by Vario and is in 1/6 scale. Power is a Jakadofsky Pro turbine running at a fixed RPM. These engines are made to only run at "full" which is nice for efficiency and optimal run. Now i just have to scale it out, and I'm starting with the cockpit .. in particular i am working on the cockpit Our new product is going inside for a very extensively functional glass cockpit

Did you see the one on the Jetpower thread? OMG, awesome.

Nice one Voy!

Don, with two kids in the home now, sometimes that leaves me up catching up with work into the wee hours of the morning, lol ... Our daughter is just past 1 month ...

Yes ! I did see the 412 on the JetPower thread .. I have been into turbine helis myself before even the jets . .. My other bird is a EC135 . I had a rotor grip let go resulting in a tail strike, so this one is out on repair leave :\ ..

I'm sitting down all day everyday 5 ft from a 1/4 scale Bell 525 wind tunnel mock up.
I stare at it all day thinking how good of a plug it could become. However a 5 blade main rotor would be a pain to replicate, right?

Nothing out of the normal now a days - just takes a little time to set up correctly.

agree 100% .. phasing can be set digitally, and with 3 axix gyros, they fly as if on a flybar to set the head, you can do it off of a single blade over the boom, and at 90 deg ... with aileron / elevator, just set phasing untilthere is no interaction at these points alternately based on ele/ail inputs
