Don't miss the SPA East Season Finale Masters contest the weekend of Oct 6-7 in Chattanooga, TN. Guaranteed to have a great time, even better competition and Southern Hospitality 2nd to none from CD Mike Robinson and the host club CRCC. Come enjoy the SPA Experience to the fullest with the annual meeting on Saturday night with a special guest speaker. If time permits we'll be running the GeeBee races again as well. Early pre-registration numbers promise full classes and great competition across the board. Don't miss it!

Can't wait, it is going to be a hoot.
Headed to the field to test my new DB with a Nova Rossi on the nose staticing 14,100 with the Rossi muffler, and coming in t 6 lbs 14 oz., should haul along pretty good.
Chattanooga can draw some big crowds, and I'm expecting 30 pilots at the least.
Got my Gee Bee ready or the races too .

looking forward to seeing you there Jamie. No doubt you and that setup will be a formidable combination!

Here are some directions to the field as well.

Directions to Summit Field in Chattanooga
Take exit 9 / Volkswagen Drive to the right and at the end of the ramp go right (if traveling I-75 North) or Left (if traveling I-75 south) onto Apison Pike/ Hwy 317; (an easterly direction)
Go about a mile to a four way stop and continue straight on Apison Pike / Hwy 317
Go 1/4 mile and turn right onto Pattentown Road
Go 1/2 mile and turn left onto Woodland Drive. (small beer store at intersection)
Go about 1 mile and take a left onto Old Woodland Drive (you will have just topped a steep hill)
Go down Old Woodland drive to the entrance gate.

Note - The Best Western in one mile south on I-75 from this exit. It is exit number 8.

I sure hope you can make it over, just wouldn't be the same without you Ellis.

Yep that's the Phoenix. That was from day1 of the trimming process.

I certainly wish I could make it. It's been a very dissappointing year considering the plans I had to attend some SPA events. I suppose we have to live with how work dictates what one is able to schedule. Hopefully next season will prove better in that respect. Sure do enjoy seeing the write-ups and the pictures from the contests. At least I'll have the vintage built up Bridi Dirty Birdy ready to go in "13". Probably load it up with the OS .65, I got a thang for them 2 strokes! Enjoy the Masters, will be looking for news and photos from you all!

Contestant numbers look very good at this point with 22 preregistered for this weekend including 9 fliers preregistered for Sportsman and 6 set for Expert. Several promise to trickle in as always. Don't miss the fun and fellowship, or the Annual Memorial Flyoff. It's a 1 on 1 shootout between the top qualifying and attending Sr Experts in a one flight, 5 judge winner take all format.

Sure appreciate that Eric, hope you, your brother, and your Dad all do very well too! I had to take advantage of a management position which invloves working in Grand Rapids, MI and commuting home (west of Chicago) on weekends. Really takes away from the weekends allotted time but I am looking forward to next year. Post some pics when they're ready!
