I've heard that in Russia (Norvel engines) and many other places where nitro is illegal, people run glow engines with just methanol and oil. Does anyone have experience with this? Would a Cox Texaco ever run without nitro?

Thanks

For sure it'll run but quite how well is another thing. They've been designed to run on high nitro so the compression and plug will be matched for that. To run properly on zero nitro means a higher compression and a warmer plug should be used but you haven't got much choice when it comes to plugs with the Cox.
